Re: Paradise Papers

Tax avoidance is wrong whether it's the parasitic Windsors or indeed amongst football clubs-including the only Scottish club caught out for tax EVASION -the royals sycophants Rangers FC

Re: Paradise Papers

Word from the street, only rumour bear in mind,
There is a huge car franchise outlet being built on the IOM, far to big for the market here so eyebrows were raised!
Word is now that large financial backers of the front company [Jacksons]are pulling out, seems there was a leasing dodge for luxury cars planned, as with the jets, it seems this wheeze will shortly be curtailed, watch this space.

Tax Avoidance always seems wrong to people who probably cant make full use of it.

Re: Paradise Papers

It's either right that everyone can avoid tax or it isn't

It's a sh1t society which says if you are rich you can avoid tax but if you're the normal citizen you cannot

I thought that there was an 11 000 allowance anyway. I realise that there are unfortunate people on zero hour contracts, in my opinion that is a bigger crime, and more important nut to crack than tax avoidance.

Re: Paradise Papers

Not tax avoidance, but when I folded up my little one man band , I thought I was finished with payments to the DWP Taxman etc
However, I got a letter saying I owed 160 odd in national Insurance stamps , so I rang them up and asked them how that was possible, seeing as in the past, every month I religiously got my class 2 stamps for the month , then when they chaged over to a quarterly bill , paid that up on time every time

The guy at the other end said he'd checked my account and he couldn't find out where the demand had come from but would get back (he never did) so I rang them back up, asked for a supervisor and told him all of this, all he replied was if I didn't pay the money, my state pension was at risk , so I begrudgingly paid it

Now, seeing as they never gave you a new book to put your stamps in until your old one was completeley full and paid up to date and when they changed over to the quarterly system , they would have sent out a first bill with any arrears on that, (they didn't), I am still at a loss of exactly where I owed the money from .............not only that but the monthly payments didn't add up to that amount , neither did any combination of quarterly bills

Re: Paradise Papers

Seems the Turkish PM has taken offense to him and his family being outed by the Cumhuriyet newspaper of their connection appearing in the Paradise Papers, he is taking out a 500 thousand pound equivalent litigation in the Turkish courts against the newspaper.
