Re: Environmental concerns

This article on US engineered water shortage in Mexico is worth a read. Who owns rivers anyway? You could argue something similar with the Tigris and euphrates, the river Jordan too.

Re: Environmental concerns

Saw people enjoying a picnic on Sunday, about 15 of them under the trees just off Akbuk beach. Walked passed yesterday & coudnt believe all the rubbish they had left behind, including glass bottles, polystyrene food containers etc. New council rubbish bin 50 feet away. To say I was both saddened & angry would be an understatement !

There is a local "plogging" group here in Didim, consisting of both expats and Turks, who go round and tidy up areas (usually beaches up around Mavesehir)
The amount of rubbish picked up is staggering

Try the Kumluk Beach bar and restaurant in Datca for the best ever americano coffee, 10tl. He is so proud of his Italian machine and one of these will blow your sox off!
