Oxfam

Having worked before for a Charity(not Oxfam) I feel sorry for all the hardworking volunteers and workers not involved, that do good work day after day now to smeared by the few.

Though do believe some Charities have become to Corporate and spend too much money on administration and management salaries and too little of the money going to the victims and disasters.

I think we all are getting a bout of Charity fatigue with adverts, mail drops etc.

Re: Oxfam

When we taught in West Africa in the 1990s we could not afford to use our air conditioning due to the cost of electricity. No problem for the Oxfam guys, theirs were always going full belt. We had a 17 year old Toyota with a rusted roof. They drove brand new toyota 4x4s.

Re: Oxfam

That's why Charity really does begin at home. So many good people out there who will always give money whether they can afford it or not. And the biggest rake off goes to the wrong people as has been the usual for decades.

What the hell has TM got to do with it? Its been going on for years, its for organisations to sort out or did none of this go on under Labours tenure? Did Savile only live under Conservative rule?
You may have good reason not to like TM but since when has ANY Sitting Government had complete control on what goes on internally in charities whilst operating abroad?
Worth pointing out that there's also been past allegations relating to those operating under the UN & NATO............is that also down to TM?

Re: Oxfam

Not political at all spurs , put your rucksack of shoulder chips away .

May is pm now , she is criticising Oxfam , but no one else.... why only Oxfam when little boys were abused repeatedly , May keeps and has kept schtum .

So Oxfam gets tanked and church movements full of convicted and unconvicted paedos sails on.

Hypocrisy , both you and her .
