A bit unfair on Obama I think. Obama tried his best to deal with the gun ownership issue but his efforts were thwarted by the Republicans. We know that it is not just Trump, it is all Republican Presidents whom the NRA have got in their pockets. However Trump singles himself out for particular criticism for coming out after the shooting and saying that they need to do more to tackle depression. What an insult that must have been to the relatives of those murdered. He is now scheduled to make a window dressing stopover on his way to the golf course.

When are these right wing muppets going to realise that guns are for killing. America is awash with guns and tinkering around the edges with banning certain types will achieve jack s**t. The world is awash with weapons. The Yanks supplied sophisticated weaponry to Afghanistan and to Iraq when these countries were fighting the Russians and Iran. These weapons are now being used against American/British soldiers. Britain follows these clowns around the world, it's as if it is one big arms industry game.

Re: More Shootings.

Its the perfect storm, jobs, industry & votes. More chance of getting rid of cay in Turkey.

I watched an interview of a couple of students from the school, both said the laws should be tightened but not too much because it was an Americans Right. Pointing out the obvious really...........some people are normal when purchasing but flip later, shows what the attitude is.
TBH I'm surprised many ex forces out there haven't created more carnage than they have.

Re: More Shootings.

Nester Ramos of The Boston Globe predicts the next shooting:
"WE KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT
In America, mass shootings have become so familiar that they seem to follow the same sad script"

"There are only three things we don’t know about the next time: WHO, WHERE, AND HOW MANY?"

America and that in red letters do not belong in the same sentence.
Personally, the world has become numb to mass killings in America. No doubt they will be making a film about this one soon. The only thing that bothers me about America, is that what happens over there, spills out to the UK soon after.I couldn't give a monkeys chuff about their constitution or laws, but what gets me is these morons try and dictate to the world morals and how to love one another and they cant even look after their kids in safety.

Re: More Shootings.

Reading thru this thread one might suppose these shootings only happened in the USA…

11 dead in Cape Town mass shootings...

https://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/N...to-11-20170930

But at least the government made it compulsory for all registered firearms be returned to the police for destruction – so then only the unregistered arms owned by the thug elements stayed in circulation

I always carried a gun so I reported it stolen and kept it.

Re: More Shootings.

The guns are not the problem it's the owners . Stopping selling guns will not end the problem.

And not forgetting what happened in France 2016...........AKM assault rifles & hand grenades a plenty, victims deaths 130. Yes a different motive BUT focus on the weapons used.

This has to be the most stupid reply to an issue on TLF.Tell me, Enoch, what are gun's made for??I will educate you if you are not sure. They are for KILLING, nothing more nothing else. It's not a case of stop selling them, its a case for banning them all together.

Re: More Shootings.

Just how to ban/confiscate some 300 million guns?

A few citizens just might surrender them voluntarily – imo most, including the thug & mentally unstable elements, would not.

I spent most of my life in a gun environment (and still feel naked without one) but can offer no suggestion as to how to address this problem.
