Post Gas & Electric Charges

Hi All,
I am coming out to Turkey soon and would like some information regarding heating and fuel current charges.

I will need to have a supply of bottled Gas for my Combi Boiler due to a change in the supply of bulk fuel and I was wondering if there was a different rate and, or delivery cost between different companies. Also if some one could advise me of the current electric cost for using one kw per hour of electric on standard rate.
We are situated in Yalikavak.
Thanking you in anticipation that I can obtain help to establish the currents cost.

Also I would appreciate the name and contact of a good and reliable supplier of bottled gas.

Re: Gas & Electric Charges

The last bottle of gas(19litre) that I got 2 months ago cost me 80tl, that is here in Konakli near Alanya. The cost of electric for using 1kw is fractionaly under .45kurus or nearly half of 1 lira. This is with Akdeniz electric company
Cheers, Warren

Re: Gas & Electric Charges

I think the price of gas is state regulated so about the same price anywhere.
There are different tariffs for electricity, either same price across 24hrs, or banded into different prices for different times.
You dont mention water, that has gone up significantly in the last couple of years.

I don't know what your water bills are Kanga but I'm more than happy with mine here in Side.

Month in, month out, my water bill arrives for the sum of 2.62 T.L. That's almost 50pence if we're talking Sterling!

During the last year before I emigrated to Turkey from Britain, I had a Direct Debit set up for Severn Trent Water and I clearly remember, I was paying 67 / mth for 10 months every year. That would work out at 55.83 / month!
That was 22 yeras ago!

Maybe it's because I don't have a diswasher, or even a steam-cleaner but I do have a large bath which gets good use, an 8kg washing machine that's used on average 3 times a week, as well as the good old kettle and shower.
I guess cleaning and watering of balcony plants and the loo uses quite a lot too.

50pence? No complaints. I'm a happy puppy.

Re: Gas & Electric Charges

Wow!
Hope you dont have a dodgy meter F49!

Our water bill here in Wales is 203 per year. It's just gone up from 201. We have private drainage so no charges for sewage or surface water.

We owned an apartment in Datca (since sold) bought from new and didnt have a water bill for many years despite asking the builder to change it to our name. He kept saying it was so small it was no problem. We even tried to give him cash. When we eventually changed to a card meter the belediye came to read the meter, which resulted in a bill of several thousands. .
The builder had used our meter for building the whole block, and hadn't bothered to pay.
The mayor got involved and as the builder had also caused a lot of problems and gone bust, we came to an agreement and he wrote off most of the charge. Our passports showed the length of time we had been in the apartment, so we paid a pro rata amount.
Every visit is a new experience. . .

Obviously to run your Combi Boiler of bottled gas yo will have to get the gas jets changed to run on bottled gas as its different than piped gas.

Re: Gas & Electric Charges

When you buy a combi boiler in Turkey they give you two sets of jets, so it should be relatively easy to change.
