All those who are prepared to cheer probably also admire all those companies who make their profits in the UK and then don't pay tax.
Let's also cheer the likes of Sir Phillip Green and directors of Carillion who leave pensioners stuffed but walk away unscathed.
What excellent role models but let's all teach our kids to cheer and clap.
But again, was he acquitted? you havnt answered that, and you are probably going to avoid answering, it will break your bitter heart to admit you are wrong.

Re: Sir Ken Dodd dies aged 90

Yes he was acquitted on all charges, daft as a tickling stick for not having a clever accountant like the rest of the "stars". Went on to be knighted for work and donations to charity and never left or forgot his roots......couldn't watch him for 4 and a half hours tho !!! :-)

RIP Doddy

Go after the living not the departed.........

Not my type of comedy but it worked for millions.

At least he never died with allegations of being a nonce.

Lookout though, once a celebrity dies they crawl out of the woodwork to feed on the corpse, you cannot slander a dead man

Me ? I have a few biscuit tins that Doddy left in my care here on the IOM.

Re: Sir Ken Dodd dies aged 90

Did a tiling job for a guy who was in special forces , his then wife was part of an Andrews sisters type cabaret act called the Minting sisters . Her dad (an old time music hall star ) had the same agent as Doddy and he was their best man when they got married

This episode of 321 has them on it

Re: Sir Ken Dodd dies aged 90

A lot of acts/celebs/sports people were paid cash in had or at least in part. Bob Monkhouse, Eric Bristow. Chubby Brown, Steve Davis, Bernard Manning etc, I was involved in two clubs many moons back (contracts with them) but knew the owner of one & committee members of the other. At one club a sell out night on Bernard Manning nearly never happened because he wouldn't take a cheque.
Thinking back even I was paid in cash at both of those places......obviously declared it.

Gorra love the man for asking for cash in hand when doing a benefit show for Customs and Excise.

Incidentally you would be amazed at the amount of people who think Knotty Ash is a fictional place.

Oh dear very sad statement to make. Hope people are kinder when you make your departure. Why do people have to throw in the nasty stuff. ...... when it's not called for.
