Well if it isn't in the Mail and quoted by Boris, it might be true

Re: Spying is a very dangerous game.

As it must be around 6 weeks since the "incident", do any members have any information regarding the police investigation and the nationwide hunt for the perpetrators? As the nerve agent is one of the most dangerous ever developed, one would have though no stone would have been left unturned to try and get to the bottom of this and to catch the said criminals.

Photo fit pictures, descriptions, appeals for witnesses etc. would reassure me that the authorities were acting with all due haste.

Re: Spying is a very dangerous game.

To try and prevent this ressurected post from slipping off the radar, I thought it would be a good opportunity to summarise some importnant facts:

1. The Skripals and DS Bailey are not dead. That is incompatible with the claims of Novichok poisoning. Either they were willing actors in a subterfuge or they were genuine victims of an attack of some description. Don't forget that HMG have consistently said that this Novichok nerve agent was up to 10x deadlier than anything else. Death therefore is quick and certain on exposure to the tiniest amount.

*see below*

2. The police investigation has been subject to a complete media blackout. This is unprecedented. There are ALWAYS police press conferences calling for witnesses, issuing photofits of people they want to trace, telling us the victims’ stories etc.

3. I am not aware of one person in Salisbury who has put photos on social media of the unusual activity there. Not one peripheral player has been interviewed in the press. No neighbours have been pestered for their stories. There has been no “DS Bailey: my nerve agent hell” story lol.

4. Yulia Skripal was the most famous patient in the country. Imagine that scenario for any other patient and given that there wasn't a scrum of media photographers hanging round trying to get a shot of her leaving hospital. Nothing.

5. I don't think that in the history of the UK, has a high profile crime investigation unfolded with absolute 100% silence across all these issues.
It is inconceivable that this could not happen if the story we have been told, was true.

6. Either the Skirpals are part of the plot or they have been abducted by the British state- "protective custody" effectively means the same thing.

*The substance used to poison a former Russian agent was a highly purified form of Novichok says the chemical watchdog OPCW.*

Accordingly therefore, the official UK position on this whole affair CANNOT BE TRUE. As the narrative continues to collapse, they are having to continually chase the lie and of course we all know, that never works.

Re: Spying is a very dangerous game.

Rose, it seems like a play to get people to believe your turn of events and where they should place the blame, anything but contemplating it could simply be a Russian attack it seems. It has gone from the Skripals being victims to prisoners to now maybe being compliant in the affair ...

( or maybe you are gearing us up, just in case the Skirpals may reveal a Russian hand in the affair. So then you can use the excuse of it being down, to them being compliant with the UK authorities, not to be believed)

How is the poisoning incompatible with the claims of Novichok even if the purity was high. The fact they are not dead could be down to a list of various factors from dosage, the application, method of contact, time exposed to the substance as well as local factors of the scene of exposure weather, the presence of water, temperature. How quickly substance was removed or fell from contact. What part of body the poison entered how much poison was absorbed or not.Physical size, the general state of health and age of victims.

Which is shown in the different rates they recovered and how the PC was not affected as much as the intended victim.

How she left the hospital, media interest is superficial media scrum or not. As for the police keeping it under wraps just because we don't know what is happening doesn't mean there isn't an ongoing investigation.

Re: Spying is a very dangerous game.

This farce/fiasco/lie that it has become, looks more ridiculous with each passing day (if that's possible) as the authorities try desperately to cover up the loose ends to try and stop them being made to look bigger fools than they already are.

The following article appears in todays Telegraph behind a pay-wall. Not all articles are behind the pay-wall, but the Telegraph have decided that this evolving news is of such gravity and importance, that it should be. The headline is:

"Police identify key suspects in nerve agent attack on Sergei Skripal."

As I have full access to the newspaper, I quote a full section:

"Police and intelligence agencies have identified key suspects in the attempted assassination of Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia, The Telegraph understands.

Counter-terrorism police are now trying to build a case against “persons of interest”, who are believed to be back in Russia.

The Telegraph has been told that the criminal inquiry, expected to take many more months, is understood to have made a major breakthrough in identifying key people over the nerve agent attack.

It is thought that a search of flight manifests in and out of the UK has yielded specific names in the hunt for the Skripals’ would-be assassins. Police have also drawn on extensive CCTV footage in Salisbury and have also drawn on extensive CCTV footage in Salisbury and have also trawled car number plate recognition cameras.

But counter-terror police will hit a diplomatic brick wall in trying to interview - let alone prosecute - the suspects"

So right away, the story has moved from "suspect" to "persons of interest". They are not the same.

And they are “believed” to have returned to Russia. But “believed” = “I could be wrong about that”, unless the English language has changed radically since I was at school. So there is at least the possibility that they are still in the UK. Stranger things have happened, I suppose.

So why no manhunt? Why no release of their passport photos? Why no “have you seen this man?” notices in public places in Salisbury and beyond? Why no grainy CCTV video of those suspects scuttling around Skripal’s neighbourhood?

This is the most bizarre manhunt of all time, bar none. Indeed, it is exactly how you would expect a government to behave if it knew who really "dunnit" – because they must of "dunnit" themselves.

Also within the article was a video that included policeman in normal uniform walking around the Skripals house- you know where the highest concentration of the military grade nerve agent that kills in seconds, is to be found and where decontamination is to take place.

EDIT: "Mr Skripal's home - where the highest concentration of military grade Novichok was found - will be the last site to be decontaminated."

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-43833582

Hang on though- wouldn't you have thought that place with the highest concentration would have been decontaminated first. DOH!

As Marin Luther King once said: "A lie is like a snowball: the further you roll it the bigger it becomes."

Big lol.

Re: Spying is a very dangerous game.

At one point they were pointing at a man, who came on the same flight as the daughter, and went back to Russia 5 hours later. The suggestion being, presumably, that had used those intervening hours to drive to Wiltshire, set the poison trap to trigger the next day, drive back to Heathrow and board the next flight out.

It still has not been explained why nobody is dead, yet the town seems to be covered in contamination that requires cleaners in hazchem suits to deal with it.
