So what is the correlation, are we allowed to speculate?

Re: 18th murder victim in London this year

A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 20s suffered fatal stab injuries in Leyton east London shortly after 5.10pm today, in the midst of the country's knife crime epidemic.

The victim collapsed at the scene and responding police and paramedics tried to save his life. Residents said they were shocked by this latest fatal attack, which follows the murder of two 17-year-olds over the weekend in London and Manchester and brings the number of recent fatal stabbings to 14 in 16 days.

Re: 18th murder victim in London this year

If children are excluded from schools, where will these kids receive the peer guidance needed ? as lot of these parents kid management skills tend to be lackin, so can they look to Social Services?... No... Cut, Social/youth clubs?.. No... 600 closed. Police Community Support ?
.. No..... NSO's Cut, not only that, with these cuts we lose any contact with the community to build up confidence . Where NSO's can garner valuable intelligence on crime and problems in the area . What about Police officers ?. No.... Cut

The Prevention and solving of crimes we employ Police officers , so its not Brain Science if you cut them ???? .. but we are told its nothing to do with Tory austerity cuts ...Yes

Re: 18th murder victim in London this year

To be honest, the very bad behaviour in schools, leading to exclusion as the last resort. There are no or few sanctions teachers are allowed to give. The exclusion can then lead to gun/gang/drugs/knife crimes. Actually, it all starts with BAD PARENTING. I feel sorry to said teachers - they are there to teach and educate not to endure a work load of dealing with bad and disruptive pupils !

Re: 18th murder victim in London this year

Boy, 13, who stabbed three students outside a school is jailed for two and a half years
A 13-year-old boy who stabbed three students outside the University of Birmingham School - has been jailed.

Officers rushed to the school in Selly Oak, Birmingham on December 10 last year after a teacher dialled 999.

On arrival emergency services were met by two 14-year-old's and a 15-year-old pupils with knife injuries.

One of the 14-year-old's and the 15-year-old student suffered injuries to the stomach and arm respectively - and were kept in hospital overnight.

All three have since made a full physical recovery.

A teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested at an address in Northfield with a 18-inch machete and a combat knife stashed down his trousers.

Appearing at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday 8 March, the 13-year-old boy admitted one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and two counts of malicious wounding.

He was sentenced to two-and-a-half-years in prison.

Speaking after the sentencing, West Midlands Police, DC Simon Kershaw said: 'The rise in violence and knife crime has been well-publicised in the media over the last few weeks.

The boy appeared at Birmingham Crown Court (pictured above) on Friday 8 March
The boy appeared at Birmingham Crown Court (pictured above) on Friday 8 March

'This case clearly highlights the shocking reality of young people carrying knives into violent situations.

'A boy, aged just 13, felt the need to arm himself with a deadly weapon and used it to harm not one, but three other teenagers.

'It is only by a stroke of luck that all three victims made a full recovery and did not become yet another knife murder statistic.

'Nevertheless although no-one in this case died, it doesn't make it any less tragic. Four very young lives have been damaged irreparably.

'The three victims carry the physical and psychological scars of their attack and the defendant has been jailed for more than two years, considering his youth.

'There are no winners here.'

----------------------------------------------------------

Yes I did notice the age.

Two and a half years!

Where is the deterrent in that and how long will he serve?
