Interesting article

A new thread to encourage TLFlers to provide a link to articles that they have enjoyed reading. Hopefully, but not necessarily about Turkey:-

Paper collectors across Turkey cry out against public prejudice - Turkey News

Next time we see one let's give them a smile. Recycling at its best.

Very:) little is wasted in Turkey, we were well into hanging fair stuff on the bins instead of inside the bin, it amazed me how fast it went, good one em.:)

A lot of years ago I ended up walking through the recycling depot at Bodrum

It was like something from Dickens nothing seemed to be wasted at all

Turkey is of course a country of many, many festivals. Problem is that I often find out about them rather too late to plan.

Until this website came to my attention https://festivall.com.tr/search.php

It seeks to include all festivals across the country. It naturally is listed in Turkish language, but if you open using a 'chrome' search engine you can set to auto-translate to English.

The site allows you to select by time, region and type

I find it an interesting and very helpful facility.

I found this interesting. Research on honesty in different countries, I wonder where Turkey would feature.

We were walking out of a restaurant in Denizli and saw a 50TL note on the ground. It clearly belonged to someone entering or leaving the restaurant due to it's location. We handed it over to the man at the till (usually the owner), and explained the situation. Ironically that was about the cost of the lunch too!
