Re: New PM

I cannot believe that someone who criticises politicians for lying then can rationalise being lied to when it suits their prejudices ?

Re: New PM

Personally I fancy Dominic Raab as our new P.M. Although it would be interesting to see what would happen should we have a G.E. Mr. Corbyn promises utopia for us all with a four day week, minimum wage of 10.p.h. No student fees, nationalisation of our utilities. Or is it just inspirational do you think ?

Re: New PM

Well Steve, don't we all (well those of us who are in or have worked all their lives) pay health insurance via our life time contributions ?It would be a good start to stop all this Health tourism but our good doctors refuse to ask patients if they have insurance before treatment starts ! As I have said before, I would be prepared to pay for my 4 lots of tablets say, one or two pounds per item. Not much I know, but if all us OAP's who could easily afford a couple of quid paid up it would bring a huge amount to the NHS and, hopefully help to prevent constant repeat prescriptions that are unnecessary. Steve you forget the wealthy middle classes in the over 70s group wouldn't baulk at 700 to 800 plus each per month for health care, they support private enterprise.

Re: New PM

Hils under an insurance based scheme a couple of quid is a pipe dream look up your meds and see what they cost , then pay a Doctor to prescribe every month and a pharmacist to dispense every month .

No repeat prescriptions , insurance is pay as you go or have an all inclusive policy , a golden hind imho .

Re: New PM

I am starting to take against Rory Stewart, which is a shame, because I watched some of his documentaries and they are really very good. He is now tainted as being loyal to Mrs May, even this morning he can not bring himself to ditch her stupid treaty, while at the same time advocating Brexit asap. Any Remainer in the Cabinet is going to struggle with credibility, because they either stick to their beliefs, or look two-faced.

Gove, likewise, has stayed with, and supported, May for too long. He is also seen as a backstabber from the first selection where he did for Boris. I think as a politician it is fair enough to be a two-faced backstabber as long as you are not caught. Denis Healey once said, "It's OK to be a ba*tard in politics, as long as you are not a sh*t".
