You surely jest. ALL politicians spin a yarn BUT Steve give the electorate some credit. Don't think that because people never voted the same as you that they're all dummies. The writing is surely on the wall re the UK leaving the EU & maybe, at long last, Brussels has realised it.
Look further afield, look across the EU itself & see what happened to mainstream parties.

Now which of the EU elite in Brussels is going to stand up & say, "we need to listen". Listen they do, care they don't.

Re: New PM

I still think some politicians don't get it, now the calls come for a GE. Do they think that the power & finances of Conservatives/Labour will somehow thwart the Brexit party?

I would stand a GE, but only for the reason of getting rid of MPs who have used the walls of Westminster to ignore the voices of the people who put them there.

We cannot ignore the Brexit result, a kick in the goolies for both main parties, but will it translate as a Brexit party landslide in a GE?
IMHO it wont, the EU parliament has never reflected Westminster in makeup, or Farage wouldnt be in there, it will be business as usual for a UK GE I reckon, we heard the UKIP takeover schpiel for years, the dampest of squibs in reality, I suspect Brexit party will be UKIP Mk2. wet and lacking fizz.

Are the two main parties prepared to ignore the Brexit party if a GE was called, I donít think so myself. Out of sheer arrogance they might think they can but they will pay the price.
My take is, once BOTH parties offered to enact the will of the people UKIP became surplus to requirements.
Today calls for a second referendum but who could honestly say that the result of another referendum would be acted upon?

Re: New UK PM

Brexit was a protest vote to send a message, if a GE was to occur it would be a different outcome entirely IMHO.

Where do they stand on health, education, defence and so forth?

Farage has made a few detrimental statements in the past that he now tries to take the focus off.

TBF its a six week old party & they certainly achieved in comparison to Conservatives/Labour. I don't doubt it would a different ball game in a GE BUT dare Conservative or Labour even want one? I know Labour calls for one but many of their own MPs are sitting in vulnerable seats. Even Tom Watson is an MP for a place that voted over 60% leave, prime example, would he be safe? A second referendum sorts that problem for him, he doesn't have to face his electorate. Its not just Labour MPs in that position either.
Have to say though, when it comes to a GE and the Brexit party not having a manifesto............just how good & true were Conservatives & Labours in the last GE? They can spout off about manifesto's on Question Time & the "will of the people" is going to get thrown at them for many a year yet.

One things for sure, forget the UK, there's about to be a right Game of Thrones go on in Brussels parliament. Many of the results across the other member states haven't bode too well for the EU project.
Next battle is for the EU Presidency due in October, front runners were, Weber (German), Barnier (French). I say "were" because the latest results might have affected that.
It was reported months back that the wrong results in the EU elections could be more devastating than the UK leaving...........no idea if that's come to pass.
Grab a big tub of popcorn, sit back & watch France/Germany battle for the Presidency.

Our next PM? No idea, nor do I much care.
