True.... but under the Conservative Govt's time in office homelessness has soared in the UK, up by 134% this was up until 2017... disgraceful ... but if that wasn't bad enough 73% per cent more children have became homeless since 2010 , this trend continued as the Tories have failed to tackle the problem, as into 2018 there was another 15% rise on the year before in homelessness.

A link perhaps - or is this just another unsupported personal opinion?

Re: Poverty ?

Do you have access to search engines?

Now I don’t know which are the to six wealthiest countries in Europe but I think we can agree Germany must be up there. Try typing in “homelessness in Germany”, then do the same for France.

Re: Poverty ?

German homelessness is much lower than the uk , 0.37% v 0.46% , it also includes 350,000 homeless refugees ,z much higher figure than the uk refugee total .

Re: Poverty ?

Using Gdp after Luxembourg and Norway Ireland is the next richest country in Europe

Homelessness in Ireland has reached chronic proportions ( 2016 to 2017 a whopping 25% increase) particularly in Dublin and Limerick

Worryingly rural homelessness is now also a major blight

So just another unsupported personal opinion, fairynuff.

And no, I have neither the time nor inclination to waste time trying to justify your opinions.

But scary to note that, not so long ago, Britain was rated #5 richest in Europe – it is now not even in the top ten …

Re: Poverty ?

Whilst poverty and homelessness are very complex- and not always related- its fair to say often the more wealthy nations have the biggest problems

Imho its a combination of factors but often simply down to poor response and targeting of resources by national governments

Its too simplistic to say a wealthy country means more of an I'm all right Jack attitude

A wealthy nation however can influence govts proper priorities.

As a steadfast critic of Irelands current regime it would be fair to say they have blatantly ignored both housing and poverty crises for far too long

Re: Poverty ?

We can look at as many ...links... as we like and we still won't have truth about homelessness because of the way areas count their homeless. A documentary I saw recently said one town (I can't remember the name they focused on now) had no homeless people. The investigative journalist found dozens. So it may be safe to say that all the figures that you may be presented with are lies. We all have eyes and ears and most of us can see that there are hundreds more in our areas either fake or real homeless. Either way it is not dealt with. It's an outrage of the century and sociologicaly unacceptable.
