We should never have had nuclear weapons and should be doing everything possible to restrict their proliferation

Gaddafi didn't fair to well when he gave up his WMDs and nuclear weapons. Ending up a human Popsicle.

Re: Erdogan says itís unacceptable that Turkey canít have nuclear weapons

Its a difficult one, I think most of us would prefer no Nuclear Weapons , but look to the countries that have them or what happened to the ones that gave them up Libya deposed or Ukraine invaded ... we must agree the ones that have are less likely to be messed about with, or have to worry about outside forces imposing regime change..... So understandable why Dictators, regimes etc want to have them....

If Turkey has one so Greece will want one.

It's Nuclear Weapons & the religious that really scare me. And it's not just Muslims, there's plenty of Christians in the USA that would be prepared to use them.

Re: Erdogan says itís unacceptable that Turkey canít have nuclear weapons

Personally, I am not sure that Erdogan really wants a nuclear weapon ,his speech was ambiguous, it seemed more like his usual Nationalist rhetoric on sovereignty of policy, bolstering his strong man image saying no one could stop him developing one .

Its no coincidence it was said now, after he saw how popular his snubbing of the US and NATO over Turkeys sovereign right to buy the Russian s400 system played with the Turkish Public... the strong talking distracts from his economic woes and internal Party strife, and Syrian zone problem that is ongoing at the moment....

This might change later when his rival fair weather friend in the region Iran inevitable gets theirs...............
