YouGov poll shows Tory lead wipe out and finds Keir Starmer is ‘PM in waiting’

YouGov polling has shown the Tory lead to have been wiped out for the first time since Boris Johnson became prime minister, as the public continues to take to Labour leader Keir Starmer.

Keir Starmer’s messaging was cutting through with the public when asked if he was a ‘prime minister in waiting’.

More of the public (38%) believe that he looks like a leader ready to take office, compared to 31% who do not agree.

He is seen as the best candidate for the job, with 34% of support, compared to 31% for Boris Johnson. A further 31% still remain undecided.

You maybe right but that doesn’t put Starmer any nearer to No 10.

It's in the Tory government's manifesto the commitment to repeal the Fixed-Term Parliaments Act .....so it might not be in Boris hands if the ides of March happens...

Manifestos mean JS to the Conservative or the Labour Party & they haven't done so for years.
Oh and add the Lib Dems to that comment as well.

Nope....just telling how it is. Take on board, with a majority of around 80, this Government will serve it’s full term at least.

As said, that's if Boris is still there......it will not alter the next GE date whatever happens. Boris or no Boris, fixed term or not.

Re: Labour going forward

Already mentioned on another thread, but worthy of being mentioned on this one.

https://labourlist.org/2020/09/watch...-covid-crisis/

Extract:
Lisa Nandy has apologised on behalf of fellow shadow cabinet member Kate Green who suggested that Labour should not “let a good crisis go to waste” while talking about coronavirus during Labour’s online conference.

Just shows you the level the Labour Party are working at.....lowest of the low.
