Just shows you the level the Labour Party are working at.....lowest of the low.
So worth repeating, the Labour Party hasn't gone forward or ever will to meet the low of their opposition ...The real and Historical Nasty Party the Tories....

Still a long way to meet Priti Patel remarks

Ireland’s Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has challenged remarks made by new Home Secretary Priti Patel threatening food shortages in Ireland if it does not comply with Brexit proposals.

He responded that her suggestions the UK Government should threaten Ireland, which was devastated by famine in the 1800s, with food shortages if it does not drop demands for a backstop.

Mr Varadkar reminded the minister of the starvation that swept across the country in the 19th century and said he hoped the new minister would think more carefully about what she said in the future.

Or Jacob Rees-Mogg about the Grenfell Tower fire dead - suggesting it would have been "common sense" to flee a burning building when residents had been told by the Fire Brigade to stay put.

A TORY Care Minister Helen Whately, accused of making hero student nurses in the Pandemic feel “worthless” after she told one they are “not deemed to be providing a service”. And was asked to apologise for the remarks...

You just cant help yourself, what has that to do with "Labour going foreword"?

If you think you will win a General Election by just knocking everyone else, you're wrong. You have a new leader, that's your starting point, his visit to Doncaster was worth highlighting.
Most want a decent Opposition, matters not if that be Labour or Conservative.

It is simple Chips, taking the theme of the thread "Labour going Forward" I am highlighting that going Forward they will never replicate their main opposition in the Tories in lack of empathy.....

As Stamer said today experience matters, whilst Boris was a hack writing trivial pieces on EU bendy bananas , he was prosecuting Terrorists.....

Is that the best Starmer can do.......going forward by going backwards to 2016 Boris facts.

I listened to some of his pathetic speech......

In a message to people who switched to the Tories, he will say: "Trust takes time. It starts with being a credible opposition. With taking the job seriously.

Just says that everyone who voted Labour voted for a party that didn't take the job seriously.....better know as mugs.

No Tenpin, it just means some Labour voter's fatigued by the Tories and May's inability to get Brexit fiasco over the line , just wanted it over and were seduced by the simple Boris rhetoric of getting it over with , with the " get it done "slogan ......

Only now are they are realising YES, Boris signed in our name and got it done with the WA ... Only later for him to renege on it, and prolong the fiasco ,with no "oven ready" deals, just a mirage, So not mugs, just misguided by Tory falsehoods and broken promises. .....

As for complaint on Stamer using historical references eg 2016 as "going backwards" ...You seem to have forgot the most continuous old Chestnut in political history.

Rolled out for every Tory mistake, or given as a reason for any Tory Austerity measures complained about.....

Even though there has been many years of Tory rule .....the 2010 continually used excuse ...of Chief Secretary to the Treasury Liam Bryn "note"
left in 2010 which is frequently referenced and done to death.....

Seduced?? How very PC, some might have a more stronger word for it lol

So Johnson "seduced" all those longstanding Labours voters to vote for him, no blame at all on the then Labour Leadership or policy's?

Re: Labour going forward

Funny watching Nadia Whittome on Peston the other night. A tweet came on screen saying she had resigned. Peston asked, have you resigned Nadia? No I have not, she replied. She had but Starmer hadn’t told.

Labour MP Claudia Webbe charged with harassment

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...ith-harassment

CPS says MP for Leicester East has been charged with offence of harassment against a female.

The Labour MP Claudia Webbe has been charged with an offence of harassment and will appear in court next month, the Crown Prosecution Service has announced.

Webbe, a former councillor in London who was elected as the MP for Leicester East at the 2019 election, was charged with harassment against one female, the CPS said in a statement.

The 55-year-old has been charged after an investigation by the Metropolitan police and is due to appear at Westminster magistrates court on 11 November. The alleged offence is said to have taken place between 1 September 2018 and 26 April this year.

Jenny Hopkins, the head of the special crime unit of the CPS, said in a statement: “The CPS has today decided that Claudia Webbe, MP for Leicester East, should be charged with an offence of harassment against one female. The CPS made the decision after receiving a file of evidence from the Metropolitan police.

“Criminal proceedings against Ms Webbe are now active and she has the right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

Webbe said: “I am innocent of any wrongdoing and look forward to proving this in court. I will be vigorously defending myself against these claims.”

Webbe was born and brought up in Leicester, but her adoption for the Leicester East seat after her tenure as a councillor and cabinet member at Islington council prompted some complaints within the local party.

She won the constituency with a majority of just over 6,000, down from the 22,000-plus majority of the longstanding former MP Keith Vaz.
