Re: Labour going forward

The new restaurant CCTV ( link below ) shows George Lloyd didn't resist arrest, but your right Chasey for sure these police officers will use his addiction with the painkiller fentanyl found in his body and recent use of Meth in there defense , as it has been used before successfully in many cases, when excessive use of force has been used on Hispanics and Blacks which have resulted in death in their custody .

I read about this defense, used against Bame victims of police abuse, it is called the "excited delirium defense" a controversial medical syndrome , which as you said Chasey someone can conjure up superhuman strength to resist whilst on a drug ....but in Lloyds case, it can be seen in the new CCTV, resisting was not the case and also if it had, the condition itself requires immediate action and medical treatment ( but none was called at the time ). The officers though can still as others before them have, and cite the fear of "excited delirium" for their actions, in their defense.

One of the main things which may rule out the above defense, is that the officer didn’t remove his knee when Floyd repeatedly said that he couldn’t breathe. That should have been when the officer considered Floyd know longer as a prisoner, but a patient. What was reprehensible was then to continue with the hold, even after they could find no pulse, his defense may and should crumble ....

Surveillance video of the moments leading up to George Floyd being pinned under a policeman's knee shows that he didn't resist arrest

Labour set to apologise to antisemitism whistleblowers

https://amp.theguardian.com/politics...whistleblowers

Labour is poised to make a formal apology to antisemitism whistleblowers as part of a settlement designed to draw a line under allegations made during the Jeremy Corbyn era, the Guardian has learned.

The whistleblowers sued the party for defamation in the wake of a BBC Panorama investigation last year. No final settlement has been reached but sources said an agreement was imminent, prompting anger from Corbyn allies who accused the Labour leader, Keir Starmer, of capitulating.

Antisemitism settlement plunges Labour party into civil war

https://amp.theguardian.com/politics...into-civil-war

Extract:
Labour’s decision to pay a six-figure libel settlement to ex-staffers who claimed the party was failing to deal with antisemitism has plunged the party back into civil war, with Jeremy Corbyn publicly condemning his successor’s decision to settle the case.

There's no civil war but some MP's could find the whip withdrawn ,personally I would leave them to stew and get rid of them in the selection process for the next GE

Re: Labour going forward

The Labour Party had a very good chance of winning the anti antisemitism case so said the Lawyers ..... especially after the ‘Forde Inquiry’ showed the whistles blowers involved, were using antisemitism claims to target and oust a leader they opposed.. ....

But can understand the reason a new Labour leader like Starmer, his decision to settle quickly.

In doing so stymieing and snuffing out The Tory press continuing to distract from the Tory parties dire handling of the pandemic and Brexit with further antisemitism stories.

PS ..... if these whistle blowers, who got what they ultimately wanted by their Antisemitism smears.

If they really had the party good interests at heart, they should payback into party funds the £370,000 to be awarded . As it was given to the Party by members in good faith to fight a Tory Govt...not line the pockets of liars...

Seems to me that Camden is suggesting the whistle blowers lied.

That's what I thought but I wasn't aware that Forde had finished his report?

Yes. I am suggesting some did and that was also backed up by legal advice given to the Labour Party....

The legal advice given to the Labour Party party said they had a strong defence, and confident of winning the case. This plus the evidence in the leaked Labour report that is now the subject of an NEC inquiry led by Martin Forde himself a Queens Counsel strengthened concerns about the role played by some of those who took part in the Panorma programme.

What has been leaked from the Martin Forde inquiry showed these same Labour staffers had an agenda (now called whistleblowers ) created a program to trawl social media accounts looking for keywords to use in suspending and excluding Left Wing members from the party.

So agree that by paying them off ..and giving an apology could prompt as Corbyn said a “misleading and inaccurate allegations” about action taken to tackle anti-Jewish abuse.

But can see a new leader not wanting to play the long game in fighting , giving continuous fodder to the Tory press as a distraction ... when the focus should be on the mis-handling of the Pandemic and the voting down of clause 17 not protecting the NHS from Brexit trade talks
