TV legend Des O'Connor dies

TV legend Des O'Connor has died aged 88.

Mr O'Connor had a long career on television and on stage, presenting prime-time shows for more than 45 years

He was admitted to hospital just over a week ago, following a fall at his home in Buckinghamshire.

He died "peacefully" in his sleep on Saturday.

Re: TV legend Des O'Connor dies

Not a fan of his singing style but he was a great compere/ host, old school entertainer, hard to see the equivalent today,

He leased a local theatre in Douglas IOM, 1970 ish, he did well and endeared himself locally with his courteous manner "off duty" no mean trick over here.

All in all, a sad loss.

Another famous person gone. So many just lately. So sad. Always seems to happen close to Christmas every year.

RIP Des. We will miss you.
