Water And Electricty Bills

Does anybody know if there is a difference between builders rates for water and electricity rates opposed to domestic rates?

I have heard that there is a difference, but not sure how much difference there is.

Once all relevent documents are registered to you, how do you go about paying the bills particulalry if you live in the UK.

Many Thanks to you all,

J & J

Hi Jaimie & Julie

Yes there is quite a difference in the cost of builder's electric and TEDAŞ electric. We're being charged 2.5ytl per kw, we're on builder's electric.

I think TEDAŞ is around 1.5ytl, but someone here will be able to confirm what it is.

Hi Keny,
yes it is when you first buy a property before the TAPU is in your name.

You can have your Tapu but still be on Builders Elec (Şantiye).

Re: Water And Electricty Bills

the tapu changes nothing
even when you have this you can still be paying developers rates .every new build is charged at developers rate until the site is completed and the habitation cert is given then there is a piece of equipement placed on the cable called an ishtan (i think this is probably not spelt correctly) then you pay domestic rates this can take some time and also the cost is to the site or apts not the builder/ developer
at present we are paying 20 kurush for unit i am told this is expensive we have our tapu but the site is not completed with habitation cert so untill the site has this we have no choice

check other posts in electricity its pretty well covered

Hi Cheeky Chops,

How do we go about obtaining a habitation cert?

Re: Water And Electricty Bills

this is down to the developer
if i am wrong then someone will correct me

but untill all amenities and properties are completely finished , and although it has no benefit to the owner the developer would prefer to get the habitation cert when all properties have a tapu .
the habitation cert will most likely not be applied for or obtained by the developer until tapu is present on ALL properties.

i stand to be corrcted if wrong

Smile Re: Water And Electricty Bills

Even when site is complete, the builder may not be able to afford to change it to Tedas, we have been told its quite a few grand and some of them " just dont get around to doing it " !!!
