Horse Riding - Fethiye Area
Following on from Claires topic that went awol, I have taken the liberty and as promised sticking some picture up of the horses at the ranch I keep my own horse, mainly so the question of "What are they like?" can now be seen.
They are approx 15hh, obedient, good with kids and experienced riders. Cost is 65ytl for ride along the beach, there are other treks available. The price is why the horses look good and are well trained.

Re: Horse Riding - Fethiye Area
How long does the ride last? Just curious as we will be in Yalikavak, but if it's a long ride the price would seem O.K. I wouldn't mind finding out about a similar setup near us. The horses look lovely.

Re: Horse Riding - Fethiye Area
Thanks for this piccies Dippey. The horses look lovely and I would be more than happy to pay this price for a ride. The horses are obviously well cared for and this is worth more than paying to ride a bag of bones!
I'm looking forward to checking them out in a couple of weeks when I'm there.

Re: Horse Riding - Fethiye Area
They look great...
Couple of questions:
1. Where exactly are you? Or rather how far from kalkan?
2. What do you provide in the way of hard hats? Can't be bringing my black velvet thing out to Turkey.
3. I assume rides are accompanied?
4. Do you have a website?
Regards

Re: Horse Riding - Fethiye Area
The 65 YTL is the 2 hour beach ride and thru local village.
There is also a 4 Hour along beach, through rivers, village and fields.
Then the 5-7 hour ride is into the Taurus Mountains. (bum padding required )
Yaniklar, Inbetween Gocek and Ciftlik. Just off the main road (Dalaman/Fethiye Road).
Hats are provided and part of the insurance. The rider is insured - no hat no ride.
Chaps are also provides if required.
Yes always accompanied, even if you are experienced - again part of the insurance. Depending on size of party, 1 or 2 - all riders from the stables are fully experienced for over 10 years or since childhood and ride to German/European standards (fluent in English, German & Turkish).
If you are going to be late, please phone, if you do not the horses will be put back in the field and you will forfeit your ride, the horses will not be left saddled up waiting for people.

Re: Horse Riding - Fethiye Area
Hey, just thought that I'd let you all know about the Kaya Koy riding stables. Good horses and any level of tuition available. Will try and post some pics soon for you all. My horse is stabled there and I just love it!! Check out the Perma Ranch website

Re: Horse Riding - Fethiye Area
Don't bother with the stables in Kaya Koy if you care about animals. The Desperado Ranch is the most proffesional I have seen. The place is fabulous, the horses are spoiled rotten and the riding tuition is second to none.
I am fed up of peopel setting up stables in Turkey without doing it properly. Desperado got it right because they care.
