Re: Winter Skiing

Follow the following thread and check out the links put up by Lorraine which covers all the main and lesser resorts in Turkey.

http://www.turkishliving.com/forums...ighlight=skiing

Also do a search on skiing as there several other threads.

From the Didim, I would guess the nearest resort is at Saklikent nr Antalya perhaps 7 hours or so, and the top Turkish resort of Uluday must be in the region of 9 hrs at least.

This is guesswork, You will have to do your own calculations though.

Re: Winter Skiing

I was up in Seki (between Antalya and Fethiye) a few weeks ago (first week of Jan)and there was not much snow - better check before you go there. Perhaps the recent cold spell has improved the skiing.

Re: Winter Skiing

I was in Seki yesterday and thought I would have a look at the facilities on the mountain. After a long drive to the top we came to a lodge that is almost finished but not yet being used (no furniture or fittings). Car park surface being laid etc. So we assumed we were in the right place, but nobody there and no signs.
We expected to see ski lifts - but nothing.

Although the road is a major construction project I could envisage big coaches having some problems getting up - is there a hard surface to be laid?

Which begged the question - Was I in the right place?
