Re: Chelsea tonight

At least they done it fairly,no skullduggery, diving or gamesmanship and with a depleted team, well done Chelsea, you beat the best so you deserve to be champions.

Re: Chelsea tonight

Great result for Chelsea.

Not the best of performances last night, but any team which can beat Barca ain't bad.

Well done The Blues!

Re: Chelsea tonight

It's not always the best team on the night that wins. Chelsea have won it, they and their fans should enjoy it, overall it is a great achievment.

It is going to be very disappointing for Spurs, and to me that is the only unfair thing in this win. Spurs fought hard all year for 4th spot only to lose their place next year now, but its not Chelsea's fault.

but being an Arsenal fan I will get over it fairly quickly

You cant be second best in a football match, its about putting the ball in the net more times than the other team. SO WELL DONE CHELSEA you deserve that win after you beat the best team in the world in the semis.

But one thing i will agree with you on, is that the only teams that should play... are the ones that win their countries league. It is supposed to be the champions cup after all.

But until that happens again....WELL DONE THE BLUES.

Re: Chelsea tonight

I can't stop smiling nor can I stop laughing at schweinsteiger missing that pen.....after he said that the Germans always win the penalty shoot out.

we were 2nd best for possession, skill and chances, but definitely top Drogs for sheer commitment and never giving in. The fat lady is singing the blues and tough luck on Spurs!

the CL is definitely a better comp for their being more top teams and very rarely does a team that wins it's own league actually wins the CL.
The prem has probably 7 or 8 teams that would grace the CL and it is so difficult to qualify top 4, unlike la liga etc who barely have 2 decent teams.

the result secures our 4th place and helps other English teams in the future, if not Spurs right now!

This ignorance of foreign football and arrogance of English supporters in assumming that the product served up in the PL is superior that anywhere else always makes me laugh. La Liga produced two CL semi finalists and 3 Europa League semi finalist, one of whom, Athletic Bilbao knocking out Man Utd along the way.

Also next season watch out for Malaga, taken over by Quatar Sheikhs, likely to be competing with Man City for biggest spenders pre season. Throw Seville into the mix and your looking at 7 teams who could easily mix it with the top half of the PL.

I agree with ginog, it should be for champions only but having said that, well done Chelsea.

Re: Chelsea tonight

cl semi finalists barca and real.... no surprise there then. Portugal provided 3 of the europa semis last year ...all knocked out of the CL.. the europa is just not taken seriously by english clubs. it's too arduous and comes alongside the carling and Fa cups in a congested fixture list.
there is no realistic chance of the Real/Barca domination being broken even with sheik cash, The Bundesliga again throws up the same names and the corrupt serie A is whoever pays the most cash!!!!
the CL was a bad year for english clubs this year but next year watch man city go!

the prem is the most open of leagues and the most watched. It's unpredictability has people enthralled around the world. My guess is that Real and Barca would struggle to win it...... but it's only an opinion not an arrogant statement of fact...

is your avatar wearing a Barca shirt? Carefree!!!!
