E Bikes

Has anyone any experience of ebikes?

Like the idea of getting about with good exercise yet having a bit of help on hills and distances

Any experiences welcomed

Re: E Bikes

We both have e bikes , they are amazing , they can be twist the throttle and go , pedal assist , or pedal assist with 5 levels of assistance.

The battery ranges are generally 24 - 36 - 48 volts with 8-10-15 amp capacity. they come with and need dedicated chargers and a full charge should take about 5 hours.

A 36 volt 15 amp hour battery should be good for 30 miles of mixed riding , you can get them with no gears , and anything up to 16 speeds.

A gear set is very useful if you need to do some uphill work.

Do not woory too much about price , the cheap chinese factories make the big name stuff as well.

Pedelecs UK Electric Bikes l Pedelecs is a good resource and is full of good advice.

IMHO a decent bike and battery set up should be about 750

any help , just ask , i am no expert just researched it for a long time and have owned one for about 5 years.

Re: E Bikes

Gtech , no gears , small battery , low power battery , no mudguards , no carrier , no lights.

Supposed to be good on flat , unchallenging rides , fibrebelt drive is good however , but you will miss the mudguards and lights.

Very much a ride to the tennis court Sunday morn , and off for a coffee and a chat with the girls after. If you run out of battery a hard ride home.

No Martin we live atop a small mountain in Turkey and i am 30 stone , need residency or a friend to get a motorbike.

Our bicycling is in the UK , hence the mudguards needed.

Re: E Bikes

Cheers Steve. Appreciate it

Big girls interested. Will need to buy them in Spain so want to do homework before buying there.

General area where we are is long stretches of flat roads THEN long gradual hills.

It's for the hills I am wanting the electric motor.

Are they as effective on hills as the adverts say or will we still be out of our saddles standing on the pedals?

No I had an electric scooter, basically same as a petrol one only with a very inefficient lecky motor

Ebikes are just ordinary bicycles you pedal BUT there is an assisting electric motor which works when you pedal to give you extra wee push
