Talking another week gone by....

Well, another week is slipping by, hope its productive for you guys.

Soo, I see you are back a mong us too, we both must have gotten hit at about the same time I ended up in the hospital last week, seems like you did too, you dididnt have our laptop, i did and had just a snudge more energy.

went into the chemo doctor;s office today, mr. doom and gloom himself..... not the best one to see if you dont have any uplifting news waiting for you around the corner. each time we go in there, we walk out with our mouths open and saying to each other, did he really say that?

tomorrrow we go in to see the radiation doctor, th eone who did the radiation therapy and the cyperknife procedure. he is usually very upbeet, so i will give you any information he gives us,.

as for the past days, i was like comatose......it was the weirdest thing, i was awake, i just couldnt command my muscles to do anything, how stupid is that? lluckily i had family members here who hoisted me up, got my legts over the bed and got me upright, course walking was funny, i was walking backwards....then crabwalk then i went downstars and didt get off the couch got dressed and went to the doctor......

i was in bed right now, but had taken a stereoid so i must have gttena little energy.

reading an inspirational book :the last lecture" if only i had his energy. I too have things that arent finished, i need to sit down and put stuff down on paper, for mhy children, my friends, etc.

so i might more involved in that for a while because dr. doom an gloom is just that.....doom and gloom....... he started our talking about hospice and paleosomething care. its like thay are getting me ready for the passing and im just not ready...... i need somethinf to keep me grounded, otherwise its just as easy to throw up my hands and say, yea this is it, why fight it. yada yada yada.

well i guess this is as far as my energy is lasting. i just want tocheck my f/b friends and seee whats up there.

Soo, a freind of mine is coming in October,I would love to send something to you, if u would give me your adress, i will have him cargo it to you.......only if you feel comfortable that i should have our address.

you all take care and check in.

Re: another week gone by....

Pebble, it is so great to hear from you.

I understand what you mean about not having control of your limbs - isn't it the wierdest feeling? Haha I used to blame the drink at one time.

Good grief, it sounds like Dr. Doom and Gloom should get his money back from the charm school, the course obviously didn't work! Tell him to shove his paliative care where the sun don't shine, you've still too much to see and do.

Concentrate on sunny things, and banish all negativity from your life.
A big, big hug coming your way.

You really are an amazing lady, whilst all this is going on in your life, you are still thinking of others, I salute you.
I,ll PM you my address, on one condition.....I get yours back in return....

Soo xx

Re: another week gone by....

Pebble and Soo, it's great to see you've both got the fighting spirit, it will work wonders for you. Just a quick note about the Hospice and palliative care however. Don't think it's all Doom and Gloom, it's trully insprational.

I had a Macmillan nurse assigned to me and spent 2 week's in our local hospice. Before I went in, my views on a Hospice was that people only went there to die "NOT TRUE" more people went home than not 6 years ago and I believe even greater numbers come home today.

Palliative treatment? I had loads of pampering when I was a "resident" and still visited the Hospice in later months for more, I loved it.

Please don't think the Hospice as a last resort and Palliative treatment as a waste of time, because both played a vital [and very uplifting] part in my battle.

Re: another week gone by....

Hi Pebble its so good to hear from you again, Dr Doom and Gloom just has to tell you worse case scenario, and its just that, don't prove him right, rest up a lot cos you need it, but refuse to even consider the worse case scenario!! keep fighting and prove them wrong, lots of people have done it.

There was a woman in England, Jane Tomlinson who was given I think 3 months to live, she thought bugger that and during the next six years, she completed the London Marathon three times, the London Triathlon twice, the New York Marathon once and cycled across Europe, the United States and Africa. She died in 2007 but had completed all these feats and raised 1.5 million pounds for charity.

so you see it is possible to live a fulfilling and rewarding life even with the big C.

stay positive. x

Hi Pebble ..read UKizooks (what a bloody strange name) post..and read it again...maybe 'Hospice' should get a different name ..

Nowadays they really are places of hope, ..not like your doom and gloom guy.

İve told you about that friend/patient of mine who 14 years ago aged 39 had breast cancer which had spread...nobody thought she had much chance...she had a really awful battle , but she's still here ..İ remember her telling me i dont want this f***** cancer and its not going to get me' ..and it hasnt.

Re: another week gone by....

Hi Pebble, good to see you've posted today, you will fight this because you still have a lot of life to live, and lots of good things to focus on too. We do a lot of fund raising for our local Hospice, and we've been invited on two ocassions to take a look around and see where all the funds go. We spent time at the adult and childrens areas. It is an amazing place, I cannot tell you how it changed my view of Hospices Pebble, the residents have, most of the time, one to one care and can enjoy all the amenities there. The menu even included a tot of their favourite whisky, brandy etc before their meal. We spent a whole morning there, and came away feeling, yes, very emotional, but with a positive view of the Hospice. I just wish there was some more money in the government pot to help places as these the funds needed to run them are astronomical, and yet they have to rely on charity for their funds.

Lots and lots of best of wishes for you today Pebble, hope Dr Doom and Gloom has taken his smile pills, you certainly don't need those, lol.

Lesley

Hi Pebble, boy you look good but you do look tired. How about I book you into a specialist spa for a couple of weeks to help you get some energy and strength back. All our specialists will give you the expert care you need right now, then once you get a bit of energy back you can go back home to your lovely family.

Great to have you back on you were missed as I'm sure you can see. Try and stay positive xxx
