New Home Needed for 4 Dogs - Fethiye Area
As many of you are aware Ceni / Mrs KKOB is currently in the UK undergoing treatment for cancer and I'm in Turkey looking after our 4 dogs and the house.
It's become apparent over the last few weeks, and with further test results this week, that Ceni's treatment is going to be long-term and after her Chemo and further treatment she's going to have to continue a regime of regular check-ups, initially 6 weekly.
As you can no doubt imagine we can't afford to maintain 2 households over a long period nor can we afford for her to keep returning to the UK for her regular check-ups. The thought of us staying apart is causing great distress to Ceni, which as you can imagine is not good for her at this time.
With all this in mind I have to return to the UK for the foreseeable future.
We cannot afford to take the 4 dogs to the UK with us and regrettably this means that they need to be re-homed in Turkey.
So, we are offering the following dogs for adoption by members in Turkey.
Molly. A 3 year old Kangal bitch.
Benson. A 4 year old Chocolate coloured German Short-Haired Pointer.
Lucy. A 7 year old Liver and White Long-Haired English Springer Spaniel.
Sam. A 2 and a half year old White and Light Brown Pointer / Beagle mix.
All 4 dogs have been neutered / spayed and have up to date vaccination certificates for Rabies, Bronchitis, Distemper etc. Lucy is also chipped.
They are all house-trained and also act as Alarm Dogs. That is, they'll bark only when anyone approaches the property and will stop on command.
Several members of the forum have met the dogs and I think they'll agree that they are all well adjusted and friendly dogs that would fit well into a European household either individually or as part of a group.
I can give anyone interested in re homing any of the dogs a lot more information on their individual characters, eating habits and general nature. They are all wonderful characters and it breaks our hearts to have to leave them behind.
If any members are interested in a long-term villa rental in the Kaya Valley at a very favourable price, please contact me by PM.

Re: New Home Needed for 4 Dogs - Fethiye Area
Oh KKOB I am so sorry that you have to go back to the UK, as you know I for one fully understand your situation as Mark and I were apart for 7 months last year for the same reason, luckily for us he responded really well to treatment and his check ups are every 3 months so we are just managing, however we are thinking about our future here, as he has been told that his cancer WILL come back at some stage
we have 3 dogs of our own so I cannot help you there but I wish you all the luck in the world with rehousing them and I hope that you do not get slated on here for asking for new homes for them as I did when I thought about going back to the UK with Mark, and I know that it will be heartbreaking to let them go but you have to do what is best for you and Ceni right now
I hope that Ceni gets through this quickly and I am sure that having you there to support her will help her enormously.
Good Luck. xxx

it can't be easy being apart at a time when you need each other so much, Ceni needing comfort, you needing to comfort her. i hope you find good homes for the dogs, and soon, then you'll have one less worry. best wishes to you both. xxxx

Sorry to hear of Ceni's problems and your consequential need to return to the uk!
My father and father in law have both made complete recoveries from cancer-good luck.
İ would love to adopt one of your dogs but i live in a flat and its just not fair or practical sadly--İm sure they will go to wonderful homes.

Oh Alan I'm so so sorry to hear this, the last thing Ceni needs right now is to have this extra worry. I really hope you get homes for them or better still that someone could rent and look after them for you. I hope also as Babsgood has said that no negative comments hit you!!!!

Re: New Home Needed for 4 Dogs - Fethiye Area
I'm sorry that we can't help out with the adoption as we have an animal overload of our own, I just wanted to wish you and your wife well at this difficult time and hope that you can find them all loving homes, it will be difficult. As Gail said, it may be that someone could rent your villa and keep the dogs there, would be worth a try?
All the best for the treatment and the move back to the UK

KKOB and CENI, I hope you find the loving homes for your lovely babies and be reunited very soon. Best wishes that all falls into place quickly and easily - you both deserve it.
