My cats
Don't read on if you have a nervous disposition
We recently banned the cats from the apartment due to the arrival of my brother-in-law who thinks breathing in cat hairs is fatal. Luckily they love the outdoors and have shelter and even a comfy sofa outside so have taken it pretty well apart from two rainy nights when they were disgusted to be left out and stubbornly refused to climb into their kennel despite it's fluffy pillows!!
Maddy our Angora seems to miss her cuddles on the settee so İ have to sit on the cat sofa with her or preferably lay on my belly reading a book so she can lay out on my back. Hubby says İ am like a bouncy castle - cheek!!
Tilly however who looks like a smaller version of a black panther has decided to spend the extra time outdoors hunting and murdering as many small creatures as she can. Three baby rats last week which she left in pieces. Yesterday İ went outside and she had a mouse. She was very happily rolling on her back and flicking the poor thing about so İ went over to gauge if İ could rescue it. Tilly must have read my mind though because as İ bent down for a closer look she chose that moment to eat it - everything but the tail İ have to say it was not pleasant.
Maddy looked a bit put out and cried for her Whiskas and fatso Till still managed her usual dish of biscuits despite her mousy starter.
Tilly may have met her match though. Hubby was out there nattering on his mobile (for a change) and a gigantic rat appeared. Apparently Tilly ran like hell. Probably looking for the culprit who scoffed her babies. He said she was as big as a small cat - but Turkish men are prone to exaggeration

Re: My cats
Hmm, yes. I love my 6 cats and fortunately only two of them at the moment are killers (but the two youngsters at 8 months and 9 months are trying to learn fast). Max will eat every bit of whatever he catches, which is usually only birds, but Jack will catch and torment anything that moves - lizards, ghekkos, mice, rats, scorpions, snakes - and then leave the bodies for someone to trip over!!

Re: My cats
I don't like the sound of them upsetting those snakes,
I know of a couple of people in dalaman that have lost cat's and dog's that had got to close to
I don't like the sound of upsetting them snakes, know of a couple of people in dalaman whose cat and dog died due to snake bites. So If i was you i'd keep the brother in law outside next time he visits. lol, and keep your cats safe inside.

Re: My cats
Mine leave just the tail too, always finding them on the patio.
Jess with her first mouse, she now catches birds, the other cat Cleo is the rat catcher and they're hugh !

Its your place and the home of your cats.
Your brother in law was the intruder and its you who sets the ground rules so if he was unhappy perhaps he should have slept outside and your cats carried on as normal.
Just a thought!!!

Re: My cats
Know what you mean but despite being nutty about animals İ try and remember people come first and wanted to respect BİL's feelings He has never had a pet in his life so he doesn't understand the fuss but he does like animals and we even caught him on photo cuddling a cat at a friends house!!
Cats being totally contrary do exactly the opposite to what you expect anyway. Since hubby's brother left Tilly got a bashing off a tabby tom last night but would not stay in the apartment. Then this morning İ was woken up by screeching and found she had had a fur-flying encounter with a ginger tom this time so İ kept them both in. Tilly went high up on the kitchen cupboards and slept on Halil's hold-all he'd left behind and Maddy eventually settled on the settee. A couple of hours later hubby got up for the loo and they both begged to be let out!! Maddy has just been home - sat looking confused on the rug mewing, got rewarded with a bowl of biccies and has gone off again to wherever cats dissapear to which is a mystery to us

Re: My cats
oh no - how did she die? Was it a cat fight? You have me worried now cos my cats do seem to get into a lot of fights with the toms and sometimes other girls. At our previous address when they were very young they were terrorised by a huge nasty ginger tom cat. He chased Tilly off the roof twice and she fell into a bush! Poor Maddy seemed to suffer his wrath more as she often had scratches on her face. İt's the first time in my life İ have seriously considered killing an animal - was going to shoot him. Nearest İ got though was chucking stones at him and İ am a rubbish shot.
Hopefully when we move there will not be so many toms around. We have a nice size garden with countryside around so they should be in heaven.
