Dog Shooting
On a serious note now, at about 7 o'clock this morning Molly the Kangal was shot at by one of neighbours. She was in a field next to our house. The field doesn't belong to the person who shot at her and she was not causing any problem to livestock or chickens.
I rushed her into Kent Vets in Fethiye where she was treated. Fortunately no serious damage has been done despite having about 18 to 20 shotgun pellets, which can be seen on X-rays, now lodged inside her all down her right-hand side. Her size and the fact that she has just grown her winter coat have probably been factors in saving her life.
Needless to say, I'll be make a report to the Jandarma very soon.
The purple marks on the photo are where she's been sprayed with antiseptic.

Re: Dog Shooting
sorry to hear your bad news and see the dog in such a state.
i love animals but feel sometimes that human's are more difficult to live with than pets.at least if a dog doesnot like you he will show gaurd in his behavior or growl and snap
the problem is with humans they smile at your face and growl behind your back
i would feel like getting a gun and shooting the neighbour
keep us all informed how she's doing
all the best

Re: Dog Shooting
KKOB,
Very sorry to hear about your dog . Did your genius neighbour give any reasons for shooting her ?? Would be very interested to see what happens with the Jandarma, and hope she gets better soon. Fortunately it doesn't seem that the injuries are that serious - hope I'm right.

Re: Dog Shooting
My genius neighbour has done a runner !
Can't think why, but he doesn't seem to want to talk about it.

Re: Dog Shooting
Ahh poor Molly, sorry to hear about that Old Boy. Hope she makes a speedy recovery. Do you think the Jandarma will do anything about it?

On the lamb huh ? Makes me laugh, it really does. Obviously if he goes out till the evening then everything will be lovely and we would have all forgotten about it......................
Sorry but i think your going to have fun with that one. As he has thinned to start with, he is almost bound to deny that it was him.
What slime !

KKOB
Sorry to read about what happened to Molly. I hope you manage to get some sort of justice via the Jandarma.
Please keep us posted.

Re: Dog Shooting
To be quite honest I don't think the Jandarma will be able to do anything about it, but at least it will go on record. I'm hoping that his gun is unlicenced and that he gets grief for that.
We think this is the same fella who poisoned 2 of our dogs last year.

Re: Dog Shooting
Alan, so sorry to read of your problems with your neighbour and that he takes out his grievances (whatever they are) on your animals. Can't you take out a contract on him? I flinch every time I hear a shotgun go off and I am not unused to shooting.
