I'm new to this forum, but not to Altinkum,
Have had our place in the effeler mahalessi district for 5 years now,
This last year i have been campaigning to free captured monkeys in Altinkum, The first one was Ozzy he was caged in the Pamukkale hotel , once attention was raised about his plight , he quickly disappeared and has not been seen since,

Then it was brought to my attention of two baby monkeys in a a pet shop near yenihisar, These were really in an appaling condition, kept in dirty small bird cages, After months of hard work a sanctuary was found willing to take them in Wales, Fundraising began in earnest for their rescue, On Thursday Nov 15th officials went to the pet shop to conviscate the monkeys only to find they had gone, They were told they had been sold to a foreign woman ( british ? ) living in the resort. This has not been confirmed,
Concern is now great for their welfare, Please if anyone knows anything of their whereabouts contact me,
These animals do NOT make good pets, They also carry dangerous diseases. If they have been bought as pets this is something that needs addressing.
Also it only serves to continue the cruel trade of monkeys being taken from the wild, often resulting in the death of the parent animal in order to capture the more appealing baby .
