Re: Chihuahua puppies
OoooooMg, how choochie are they, it was only yesterday that I was watching Legally Blonde, and thinking how cute this breed of dog is. I am afraid with a dog and 2 cats, it is out of the question for me to have one but someone will snap them up. They are adorable.

Re: Chihuahua puppies
They are soooo cute, have you got any photos to show us how big (or how small) they are, say in your hands.
As a large lumbering labrador(the dog not me lol) owner I just cant guess how tiny they are.

Re: Chihuahua puppies
I'll work on it today Jane!
But to give you an idea: they weigh about 500 gr. now.
So they are really really tiny!
But they are growing good, when they were born, their weight was between 80 and 100 gr.
The one with the two small dots is the short-haired one, the one with the bigger marks is te long-haired one.
The first two hours our Pinky (their mommy) didn't give milk. So this is my mom feeding with the long-haired one with the bottle. Luckely after that they were fed by Pinky!
I'll post a pic with me holding one later today, promise!

Once hand reared 7 corgi's pups like this the mom was very poorly after a c section that went wrong , People just don't know the hard work you have to put into rearing pups , Bottle feeding Then wipeing bums with warm wet cotton wool to make them poo same to make them pee , heat lamps etc and just when your finished its time to start again every 2/3 hours , Then the worry of if the new owners will give them a forever home , bit less worry with males as you know someone will not breed and breed from them like the females , , So thank goodness Pinky is now feeding them , bless her . i'd have one like a shot but can't afford it right now , maybe one day you'll have some more i hope ...big hugs to them .......Diane

Re: Chihuahua puppies
It is true Diane, it is much work and very stressy.
Sorry to hear about your corgi.
Pinky also gave birth with a c section. But she luckyly recovered very well. The first day she was still a little dizzy, but the second day she was a real mommy! And she still is actually. We were really very lucky she takes so good care of them.
Now they are starting to eat dry food, so we have to take over mommy's work a little bit. But they are doing wonderfull!
I am not to scared about giving them to a new owner. Someone I do not trust, I will not give the puppies to.
One day I hope to make a living with breeding with chihuahuas. I want to do it good (maximum one time puppies per year per dog). So the chance is big that in some time you'l hear about newborn chihuahua pupies!
