Re: Transporting horses
Hi
I worked with horses for years in the Uk but live in Bodrum all year round now and have yet to find the sort of horsey place I would like. It's hard to find any facilities and the feed etc isn't really equivalent to what you are probably used to. I would love to have a horse over here now but I'd need to have better facilities and time first! Good luck! I'm sure it wouldn't be too much trouble to bring your horse over here but it weould be very stressful for your horse so make sure you are sure! As someone else said it would be difficult to return to the UK with your horse and it would have to go into quarantine for a few months. Let us know what you do!

Re: Transporting horses
thank you for your replies.
Hi Kate,
Yes i can imagine it being very different in Turkey compared to the Uk. Over here our horses are very spoilt and pampered.
My problem is that i have owned him since he was 3 he is now 12 i couldnt bare to be without him, but obviously his needs come before mine!
Are there reg farriers over there?? What do they feed? There wouldnt be any real grazing would there due to the weather so do they bulk with a type of hay??
