Re: Desparate! Home needed for two lovely dogs

I really hope you find a good home. I do agree with Bryan's comments. However; İ have been cat sıttıng for an English couple who have told me to chuck the cats out as they don't want them anymore.

Sorry Ian,

Misread your post, must be old age, see now that you were just making a point why some Turkish people do not like doggies.

Sorry about that.

Susan

PS. Phil says what happened to the price for his shed.

That is terrible.

Before anyone takes on a little puppy dog or kitten they should remember that they are like a baby, you have to take care of them all their life, not just while you are finding them fun to be around.

They can live up to the age of twentyone, sometimes even longer.

One part of me says putting to sleep is tolerable to save the animal from a miserable life but the other half says there must be another way. I think I will always try to find that "another way."

If you really want your pet to live forever (and have loads of money) try this service http://www.savingsandclone.com/

Oh, sorry too late, I think they stopped offering the service because of lack of interest (stupid people with too much money) more here http://www.wired.com/news/technolog...ml?tw=rss.index

I agree with Serdar totally and thanks Mushtaq, whatever peoples opinions, the dogs still need a home. The pup doesnt have false hope at the moment as I am not gonna feed him one one day and not bother the next. I understand peoples point of view with putting them down. However, you have to draw the line somewhere. There is another stray who is about to have her 3rd litter here. And me and Sally have said that if we find the pups and there are lots, this is an option to consider.

Having said that the pup outside is healthy, getting rather plump :-) very appreciative of any love and attention I give it (which is a fair bit during the day) - how could I possibly put it down at the moment. And as for Toto, I have just seen Sally and he slept inside the house last night for the first time! Yes you can get attached but at the same time first and foremost is the importance of finding it a loving good home. A few tears I'll shed when it went would be a small price to pay for it being happy for the rest of its life.

Thanks for all your comments. I can take on board everthing you are all trying to say. My mind is open. Yes there are hundreds of dogs that need homes but you dont tell somebody who needs to lose 10 stone not to bother because they have so much weight to lose do you. You still have to try. I do anyway.

I've only been trying to find it a home for a few days. Im not giving up yet by a long shot.

Lorraine

Talking of dogs licking their privates, this guy while watching a dog do just that turned to the owner and said "wish i could do that", with that the owner replied "Well give him a biscuit and he might let you"........ he-he

Well I dunno about some of the areas you folks hail from but here in Bodrum you would be hard-pressed to find a vet who will put an animal to sleep. Last year a fellow animal lover found a cat in the street and to say it was in a sorry state is a massive understatement! It had been in a fight to the death practically and one of it's paws was hanging off, it was ripped to pieces, couldn't walk and broke our hearts just to see it. But the local vet refused to destroy it and our friend had to find funds for treatment that was a long process and a kind lady took it in along with her many strays already.

Weird in a country where dogs are poisoned or shot (or used to be) and frequently left to starve or limp about untreated after a road accident but a trained vet won't put one out of it's misery with a relatively painless injection!

I agree there-- I have spent LOADS of my own money rescuing these poor street animals-- but when it comes to ME needing a little help when I back in UK -- its a different story !! Nobody around to help !!
I did not choose to have these animals but if i hadnt they would have died or been poisoned AGAIN !!
Never mind -- i wont stop helping these POOR things - its NOT their fault !!
