Phone Charges (landline)
From SABAH newspaper:
"Long distance phone call prices become very cheap
Telekom increased the prices of local calls by 27%; but decreased the prices of long distance phone calls by 57%.
EU forces, the local call prices increase
According to the new phone call tariffs of Turk Telekom, local and long distance calls got equal as 8.1 Kuruş per minute.
Telekom increased the prices of local calls by 27%; but decreased the prices of long distance phone calls by 57%. So, local and long distance calls got equal as 8.1 Kuruş per minute. Turk Telekom used to transfer the profit from the long distance, international and GSM calls to the local calls which causes loss. However, European Union's resolutions to decrease such 'cross subventions' forced them to achieve a balance in its tariffs."

Re: Phone Charges (landline)
That's good news but I didn't know the EU had that much influence in Turkey
I use 18185 to phone Turkey which works out at 1p/minute land line and 5p/minute mobile plus a 4p connection charge.Phone calls in the UK are 0p/minute but there is just a 4p connection charge no matter the time of day or length of call.
