registering my phone
I have a Turkish mobile phone but would now like to take a new UK phone to Turkey. I have the receipt. It would be handy to have a second one out there to keep in contact with the kids when they are out and about and seems daft to buy another one when I have this spare one.
I have looked through old threads but can't seem to find up to date information.
When I arrive at Dalaman airport what do I do?

Re: registering my phone
Hi Kap, you just take it to your choosen supplıer i.e. Turkcell or Telsim along with your Passport and a copy of your details page and they will register it for you.You do nothing at the Airport now, but you will have to find the shop that does the registration. Lots of Info on here about it.

Re: registering my phone
Thanks Ian. That'll save a wild goose chase at the airport. Hope Carol and Rob spot this as they were also asking.

Hi PP, We, following Luckcats (Sue) info, took our phones to the Turkcell Extra shop along the road near the Marina, in Bodrum, it did'nt take long a couple of forms to sign,no receipt required and bob was yer uncle, We think !!

Thanks Biggles, I'm wondering if it'll be possible to do it in Datca. So a day trip on the ferry to Bodrum might be a good idea, might even make it a long weekend for a spot of retail therapy and a nightclub!!!

Re: registering my phone
kaplumba. that may be a good idea, but they are not open sunday ,and not sure what time they shut sat. but as said before you no longer need receipt , they check the imei num on the phones you want to register .one word of warning ,they would not let me register my 2 blocked uk mobiles unless i bought a new payg phonr from them, so i bought a turkcell nokia payg 90 ytl with sim and 20 units on it and then they registered my 2 uk mobs and i walked out the shop with 3 working turkcell mobiles ,and also i can now top up all these phones in the uk by doing star 122 star put in the scratchcard num[ bought in turkey and brought back to uk ] then hash ,and the top up appears on your phone by doing star 123 hash.this way you wont get your sim blocked if you dont top up within 6 months of not returning to turkey.
