Re: Ttnet emal address

Don't bother, use hotmail or yahoo. I use one but found that a couple of friends in the UK and US suddenly stopped recieving anything from it, their isps and hosting companies had blocked email from ttnet, my host did the same until I urged them to unblock it.

If you prefer to use Outlook or another mail client to read and send mail then maybe you could buy your own domain name, set up minimal hosting and have your own email address that way - less than $20 a year. I know hotmail and yahoo can be collected/sent via POP3/SMTP but hotmail charge and yahoo is error-prone at best.

I have to say, i dont know what POP3/SMTP is or are (i'll leave that to Turtle-webs) but i've only ever used hotmail for anything although i am only a home user. tried yahoo but it found it a bit busy, too much going on. Over the 13 years i've been online i have had 2 email addresses (Hotmail) and the change i made from the first to the second was .co.uk instead of .com
Not sure if they still do it but i remember free hotmail accounts selling on ebay for hundreds if not thousands of pounds. If you were the first to register BarackObama@hotmail.com you'd probably be talking four figure sums and all you get for your money, via an email, is the password to the account. It was, probably still is a nice little earner.

Re: Ttnet emal address

Thanks all for your replies i already have a hotmail address and use yahoo as my main e-mail account, My reason for asking was i use Ttnet for my phone and internet but i wanted an e-mail account for outlook just for Turkish use, but the Ttnet web site is in turkish an when i try and set up an e-mail account it asks for ADSL Şifreniz and i assume that this is my ttnet password but it rejects it ????? any help would be great.

Re: Ttnet emal address

on this address: https://admin.ttmail.com/ttcustom/cp_login.aspx

the first question
ADSL Hizmet Numaranız: Your adsl number, it is ten digit number starting something like 184 (might change depending on the city). It must be written somewhere on the ttnet contract.
ADSL Kullanıcı Adınız: Your adsl username given by ttnet
ADSL Password : Your ADSL password given by ttnet
Doğrulama Kodunuz: type the code in the box

geri: back
tamam: next

you click on "tamam"

and you will see

E-Posta Oluşturma (this the title saying "opening email account" )

Yeni TTMail Hesabı oluşturmak istiyorum (I want to open a new TTMail Account) You click on this supposing this is your first time with ttnet email

Daha önce kullandığım TTNet Dial-Up E-Posta adresimi kullanmak istiyorum. (I want to use my Dial-up email account I have been using)

Now you have a new screen

Adınız: Your name
İkinci Adınız: Middlename
Soyadınız: Surname
E-posta adresiniz: You choose a name and check whether someone has already taken it or not by clicking on "E-Posta Sorgula"

Şifreniz :your password (for your email account. You choose something. Not your adsl acoount password)

"Your password must be at least 8 characters, and include at least 1 uppercase letter, at least 1 lowercase, and at least a number."

Tekrar şifreniz : retype your password

Gizli Sorunuz: Your secret question
Gizli Soru cevabınız: The answer to the secret question

Geri: Back
Kaydet : Save

When you click on "Kaydet" Ttnet congratulates you!

Now you can login and use your email account at web.ttmail.com

On that page
E-posta adresi: your email address
şifre: your password (the one you created for your mail account)

click on GİRİŞ: LOGIN
