lover of turkey

Can anybody help me because i am desperate to get a phone line at my villa in Akbuk but i just get the run around. so i would like to hear anybodys stories on this. thanks

Hi Lover - welcome to the forum.

As I understand it, you need to have residency before a phone line can be supplied. If you have a friendly local prepared to put it in their name, that's one option.

It isnt as easy as you might think. not the news you hoped for, but at least you know.

Hi I live in Akbuk a bit down the road from Tansas!!!!!

As previous thread you do need a residency permit or a nice friend who has.

The actual going to turk telecom to get the phone line requires quite a bit of form filling and it does help to take somebody who speaks turkish to help you. Luckily I had the lovelly Halil ( ms whos mate). It takes approx two weeks to get the line installed and the guys from telecom come out and do this for you.If you require broadband this once again requires form filling a two week wait and then you have to go and collect the router thingy from them.

Depends on where you live as to how long you have to wait!!! Down in this area (Fethiye) my friends have waited for several months, both for the phone and ADSL

We were really quick in Kirazli, a day or so for the phone and then two hours after for the adsl. Once the phone line was activated we scooted down to Turk Telecom quickly and were fast enough that they were able to radio the workmen who are still in the area and they activated the adsl.
