Flycell stealing credits

Following on from previous threads about kontors (TL's now) from Turkcell phones the following may be useful.

We realised ages ago that out Turkcell kontors were going down when we were not using the phone, eventually we decided to keep a close check on when we used the phone and what we used it for. I turned out the other day that 7.5TL were taken from my credits, either just before or just after I received an email from Flycell in Turkish mentioning 7.5TL. I didn't understand it but I have received this type of text once a week for getting on for a year!!! Too much to be a coincidence so I got my stepson's Turkish girlfriend to try and sort it out for me.

We had to text the word IPTAL to the number 5959 to cancel the payments that I didn't know I had signed up for the first place.

Hopefully that will be an end to it. So just beware if you think you are losing kontors and you get messages from Flycell CANCEL IT NOW.

Hope this helps.

Re: Flycell stealing credits

Wow, sounds like a spam kind of text like my mother in law kept getting. Only way she could stop it was to text STOP in caps to them. My hubby's phone credit kept going down too once due to a weird text service he never signed up for. I think it is a right cheek and con...

Re: Flycell stealing credits

I had the same issue with flycell.

I had looked for free downloads via the internet and had to send my mobile number for the ringtone. Fine I thought, that makes sense, you recieve a code number and via their internet page you type in the code which they send to your phone and this confirms it's your phone. However, I didn't recieve the ring tone so I thought nothing else of it.

The next thing I knew my credits were evaporating and I had no idea why. I recieved flycell texts which informed me of new additions etc etc but I wasn't interested, I still didn't realise I was already paying them for nothing!

Lastly I asked hubby to call turkcell. Turkcell spotted the credits going to flycell every week and cancelled the service (I use that term loosely) for me. However, it happened again about 6 months later (with no prompt from me) and I also text IPTAL, they now seem to have stopped.

Rip off service that you don't even sign a consent or contract for, and yet they can take credits straight from your phone!

Re: Flycell stealing credits

Happened to me, too. Perhaps we should all try collectively to get back the money that Flycell have stolen from us?

Re: Flycell stealing credits

I wrote to flycell (in America) yesterday and told them that they were a th***ing load of b*****ds and I want my money back that they stole off me. (I don't have very high hopes of anything happening, but boy did it make me feel better!!!)

Re: Flycell stealing credits

Kinda off the thread a little but does anyone know how to have these kind of messages sent through in English, as we set the language to English on the turkcell website and our phone is set to English but these random sims come through in Turkish, we have no chance of knowing what they are unless we can read Turkish or ask someone. Can we unsubscribe to them?
