ADSL - Turk Telecom

With my limited turkish I have worked out that those people on limited download packages have now been upgraded to a minimum speed of 512KB/s at no extra charge.
I have an unlimited package at 256KB/s.
I have looked at the TT site but it is in very technical Turkish, which is a bit beyond me.
Does anyone know if there is any plan to upgrade this (256KB/s) basic package to a higher speed?

Ian - they plan to do away with 256k adsl as a matter of policy. You will be upgraded to 512k but you may need to make sure you are not put on the limited hours/monthly scheme at the same time. The costs for the change are to your benefit.

Re: ADSL - Turk Telecom

I have had a lot of trouble connecting ,theough my Adsl, to Turk telecom. It sometimes will not connect for 3/4 days. I find it impossible to get anyone to do anything about it they say it is my router that is at fault even though I have had it checked several times and also connected it, from a friends computer. On every occasion it has proved to be in perfect working order. I have tried to get them to send an engineer out to check the lines but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Most routers have a diagnostic check so you can check the various points from router to isp.

That should help locating the problem.

Re: ADSL - Turk Telecom

Cicero: I have had exactly this problem - including almost identical response from TT. In the end, after having an engineer (not from TT) test my system from top to bottom, he argued with them over the phone and reluctantly they said they would check their connections again. Within 12 hours, with no further changes to my system, it started to work perfectly and has done ever since.
My engineer told me that he gets this from TT repeatedly - blame the customer's equipment over and over until they check their own connections and rectify their fault.
My advice is to get an engineer (who can argue on technical issues) to speak to them.

Also when you do have a connection would be worth running this site on your line and printing off any poor results to back up your claims.
