Broadband Access

Hi,

We have just bought a new build apartment in Ovacik which will be ready in June.

I want to ensure it has braodband internet access as I plan to work from it occasionally but am not sure who can offer broadband access (not via a dongle) for a reasonable monthly cost.

I think this would be a good service to offer potential renters as well so ideally would like an "unlimited" download offering so I don't get stung with a bill (other than the monthly fee).

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Re: Broadband Access

We get ours from TTNET and we have unlimited at @ 55TL per month but it will probably go up this month as it is a new year and I think charges go up in January. I cannot give you any technical blurb I am afraid.

Re: Broadband Access

Welcome to the Forum Neil and Karen. I think you will find that most people use TT Net and as Theresa has said the monthly unlimited cost if 55TL. However, having said that, the quality is nothing like the UK. At the moment my internet keeps cutting out and depite repeated calls to TT Net it isn't improving. I don't know if the rules have changed but you used to have to have a Residents Permit to get telephone and internet, but I did read somewhere on here that this is no longer the case. Good luck with your new apartment.

Re: Broadband Access

You may find a dongle is better I cancelled my internet and phone connection it was rarely working when I arrived and would take a
week to sort out even then it was often slow and dropping connection
& I had 2 routers blow.
now I have a dongle its faster more reliable and still works during power cuts with my laptop

Your renters can just top up if required

Forgot to say I upgraded my dongle for a mi-fi vin so we can connect
5 devices wirelessly, great for when my kids come out to visit

Re: Broadband Access

I agree with Carol ... I spent hundreds of lira on TT NET only to have to fight for my connection and spend most of my holiday time either on the phone, waiting at home for technicians to see what the problem was who never appeared, or down at the shop.

The Vinn dongle has never let me down and is usually faster in terms of connection speeds than TT Net

Re: Broadband Access

Mine is with turkcell and no it was really easy to set up, must be I
managed it lol. If I was starting out again I would investigate vodaphone
or avea because you have to go to a turkcell shop to charge it, for me
being an hours drive from the nearest turkcell which is in Marmaris its a pain
however I have got around it now by leaving money with a friend who lives
in marmaris they pop in give them the number and the money and its done.
but I really can't understand why it can't be done any other way

4gig 39tl per month with a turkcell vin. there is an option of 8gig
for 79tl (I believe this can be used for up to 3 months)
