Question buying computers

We are moving out to altinkum in two weeks time for early retirement(getting lazy really),and was hoping someone could put us in the right direction to purchasing a computer locally, also what sort of price we would be looking at for a basic set-up. thanks :

Re: buying computers

May be worth considering taking a good laptop with
you, If not certainly a UK keyboard, I believe prices
here are cheaper

Just a thought

Thumbs up Re: buying computers

You really should take a laptop unless you are shipping houseold goods out. P.C's are really quite expensive over the counter in the resorts maybe a better deal in somwhere like Izmir or Aydin, but a laptop in the suitcase would be my prefered choice. as said above keyboard, would be an issue, thats assuming you don't type Turkish of course. Good luck with your resettlment will be following you in a coulpe of months!!!

Re: buying computers

I found for pc's they are cheaper in Canada than here in Turkey but that being said I live in Izmir and often the Carrefour has reasonable (for Turkey) prices on pc's but they have Turkish windows.

Re: buying computers

I got my computer from Uzman Bilglisayar in Didim - a chap called Metin.
They're in Çinko pasaj which is just off the main road not far from BİM.
I paid 1 milyar ( or 1000 Ytl ) for the whole package.
That was about a year ago.
His English is very good and he's very helpful.
I always use him.
I haven't got his number handy but if you're interested I can find it.

Re: buying computers

Take a look at the deals Dell are doing on Laptops at the moment. You will not find better value for money than these.
What are the main broadband servers over in Turkey and could you use Wanadoo,Supanet etc?

Re: buying computers

Hi, almost everyone here is telling you to take a laptop, look to the future, you can upgrade a computer with ease, a laptop is a different matter in two three years you will have a machine that is well out of date, technology as it is......... everything is changing, my friend has a palce in Soke near the square, when you come over have a day out in Soke and be surprised at the prices for everything here..............
