Blackberry and a computer shop

I love this forum it became one of my favorite communities since I moved to Turkey I wanna ask you people two questions:

I have 2 phone an iPhone and a BlackBerry the iPhone I got turkcell sim card and it's working fine without a problem since I arrived to the airport the main issue is with my blackberry...

I tried to pass by the shops on here vodafone turkcell etc etc since I don't speak Turkish which is something I'm not proud of at all I couldn't communicate with the sales reps. at the shops to get a blackberry package for my other phone.

I had to activate roaming in order for me to have my blackberry working on my original sim card that I came with and I'm wondering if anybody can post how to buy a sim card with a blackberry package on and the prices and how to get it activated.

The second question would be where can I find a decent computer shop with hopefully touristic shops that can communicate in English to buy some cables i.e VGA out HDMI anything like that like what I used to have in my home country like a computer hyper shop

Khaled, which area of Turkey are you in? I ask because most of the shop assistants in this area can speak English so you wouldn't have a problem.

Re: Blackberry and a computer shop

I got my Blackberry package sorted on a trip to Istanbul. Although they speak good English in the one shop in Fethiye they didn't seem to know of the Blackberry package which allows you access to Blackberry (RIM) applications.

Thank you very much for your response I'm in Aksaray Fatih in Istanbul talking about that I've got an opinion to share after a week in Istanbul it's a very touristic area but I liked Ankara more maybe because of my background and where I'm from but in regards to the English I'm struggling to find any good Englih speakers in shops since I arrived Turkey.

Thank you for your reply, do you mind telling me how have you done that?
Since I arrived Turkey my blackberry has been in the room I only use it for txting viber/whatsapp over wifi because I couldn't get BBM to work except for the first few days on roaming which costs a fortune neither 3G or anything also if you can post the prices for the packages or what to tell them at the shop that would be great.

Re: Blackberry and a computer shop

Thank you very much guys I'm really suffering with this I went to turkcell to register my iphone and my blackberry none of them could speak any English and they were a bit rude like "this phone outside turkey no work we no help" I know that their law needs foreign brought phones to be registered for like 50$ each and I'm willing to pay that if I'm staying here for a bit but the trouble is I don't know where to pay em to

Re: Blackberry and a computer shop

I can't remember how much my Blackberry package cost but I went to a Turkcell shop near the Grand Bazaar. They spoke sufficient English to understand what I wanted and sorted it without any problems.

I had already had my phone registered at a Turkcell shop in Fethiye. The procedure has now changed and involves paying a tax. You have to take along your passport and have only a certain amount of time from your last entry stamp into Turkey to get it done.

Thank you yet again for your response I have tried that but no luck so I gave up and paid for roaming on my original sim card
