Swopping sim cards

I have 2 mobile phones both bought in Turkey. One is a Samsung Galaxy 4 and the other a Samsung Neo. Is it possible to swop the sim cards from one phone to another please? I don't want to do this in case I knacker the phones up. I am pretty useless when it comes to phones.

Re: Swopping sim cards

if both sims are on the same network ,should be fine . Prob comes if one is say Turkcell and the other is say Avea , and both mobiles are locked to their own network ,then it wont work unless you get both mobiles unlocked to any network . Its prob the same as UK ,just try it and see . It will either work or it wont . It wont do any harm and at least that way you will find out .

Re: Swopping sim cards

You should have no problems as most phones bought in Turkey are unlocked that's why places like BIM, A101, Migros, Kipa etc can sell them and you just put a SIM card in them. You can't do any harm anyway even if by a remote chance they were locked as they simply wouldn't register on the network.

Re: Swopping sim cards

Depends if you bought it from a network dealer such as Turkcell, Vodafone etc as they can - as in Britain - lock the phone to their network. However if you buy from non-network outlets such as hepsiburada, BIM, Migros etc they are all unlocked as they have no idea on which network you wish to use, plus the fact they have no vested interest in it.
We have had five smartphones from Turkey - all Samsung and usually from hepsiburada - and they can all interchange sims and networks. The latest purchase was only two weeks ago and I simply swapped the sim straight from one to the other.

Re: Swopping sim cards

Yes but if you want to use it in Turkey you must register the imported phone within 120 days of your last entry stamp on your passport.
If you want to use it with the Turkish sim in the UK you need to make sure you have activated international roaming.

Re: Swopping sim cards

I brought a Turkish 'phone back to the UK. This was purchased in a "telephone shop".

As this had quite a lot of money on it, I just used it up from the UK. Then I put a UK SIM card in it (from Asda) and have used it this way ever since.
