Gps
Hi
I was just wondering if anyone knows if anybody In turkey uses GPS systems
or if there are any available even

GPS is available, but no road map data which means that you can't use them for navigation.
You can take any GPS, but it will only give you your position but no location information (can't tell you which road you are on etc)

My husband uses his all over the world and says it works the same in Turkey as anywhere else ie. it tells you your global position - latitude and longitude. He uses it a lot while sailing. God knows why men need these toys though. I get about quite happily without one!! Still it keeps him happy.

That is not quite right. While it will not work all over Turkey it does work in 15 cities. There are road maps and it can show you what street you are on and you can use it for navigation. I saw the demonstration at Metro in Izmir.

Thats great news, I searched for a long time but couldn't find any maps for Turkey.
Will see if I can get some form my GPS system.
