Dalaman Airport Meeting 31st August 2007

I’d like to make all members of the forum aware that I’ll be having a meeting on Friday 31st August with the management of ATM, who are responsible for all on-site services at Dalaman Airport.

After recent contact with them I mentioned that I would be meeting a relative off of a flight and they invited me to spend some time with them discussing the complaints raised on this and other forums.

I’d like to take this opportunity to make it quite clear that I’m not acting as spokesman for members of this, or any other forum, nor am I acting as self-elected chairman of any kind of action group. A personal invitation was extended to me, and I’ve accepted it in the hope that it will do us all some good.

However, apart from the extortionate prices for food and drink, if anyone can offer any advise about how they think things conditions can be improved, please let me know and I’ll be happy to mention them.

I can’t see that anything will be resolved straight away but hopefully the management will be able to improve things in time for the start of the 2008 season.

One thing that they definately need is a website that shows times of flight arrivals and departures like most airports have in Europe with updates of delays, expected time of departure/arrival etc.
As you say,the price of food and drink is extortionate and regular travellers bring their own supplies so they are losing a lot of business because of this.
Better to make a smaller profit but get a bigger turnover.

There is a website, Ian: http://www.atmairport.aero/Dalaman_en/ucus_gelis.php

Alan, you might mention the high cost of parking, please.

Jcrian,
How are people taking their own supplies? Drinks are removed on entering - well they were back in April?

KK/Oldboy,

Yes prices - we don't partake unless desperate, on principal.

Also...those horrendously uncomfortable wooden benches!
So more comfortable seating with additional screens would certainly be appreciated. We had a laugh with many people travelling last time over the seating, - lack of and questionable comfort.

A pharmacy would be good too!

Have a productive meet!

Good luck old boy and well done for making an effort. Having just spent an uncomfortable 3 hours sleeping on the floor there along with dozens of others, please mention that more seating is required and it needs to be comfortable. I was able to take in food and drink and with the prices as they are would not buy it there. Also at busy times they need more visa desks open.
Thanks.

Sorry, Ian, just noticed that when the address is printed out and underlined, the underscores don't show up - so, where you see a space, there should be an underscore,

good luck kkob..... just an update...soft drinks and food aren't removed from hand luggage so you can take something to eat in.
I had a coffee in the new cafe outside the airport and it was 4.5 ytl. A slice of pizza 2 ytl

It is good they are listening.
One problem with the on-line flight information, that I did email them about some months ago, is the crossover from one day to the next.
If you want to check on a flight arriving at 01.00 a.m., you can not see it until after midnight as the display, which in all other respects is fine, only shows the current day's flights. A rolling display would be better, showing the next 24 hours.

I have just had a quick look to see if it has been changed, but at this time of the day it is difficult to tell.
