Altinkum here I come.....

I'm off to Altinkum on the 28th June for a week, to check out the area.

Any helpful suggestions welcome, any recommendations for Transfers from Bodrum, car hire and hotel accommodation would be appreciated.

I'm back from my week's holiday in Altinkum [8D]

DAY 1
I used Excel Airways, got a pretty good last minute deal about £59+taxes.

Booked at BCF off airport parking through Excelair, £55 for 7 days,
the plane left about an hour later then scheduled.

The flight itself was not bad, the seats were tight (if you have a hip size over 34", take a shoehorn with you ), during the flight you can buy headsets and drinks etc. the meal was included, it was the usual airline food [xx(]

I had arranged the transfer with Nazim from Sunset Homes, Nazim met us at the airport with his brother Umit, a couple of very nice guys.

The transfer took about an hour and a half, the roads are very good there, expect the last few miles to Altinkum which was lacking top layer of asphalt.

We had booked into the Hotel Atac for £6.50 per person per night inc. breakfast, Atac is a three star hotel a few yards from the beach, it's basic but nice clean hotel, the rooms are bright and clean, bathrooms clean. There are some apartments too, but don't know the rates.

The rooms have aircon, but you have to pay extra £3 per day, the hotel has safes for rent at about £1 per day, breakfast is the usual Turkish breakfast, the staff are friendly and helpful.

The hotel has two large swimming pools, couple of bars and restuarant.

Thanks Mushtaq for this thread I am planning to come to Altinkum hopefully this year and of course I need to know where to stay and Hotel Atac sounds reasonable - If I come alone would I have to pay a single person supplement at the hotel? Do you just pay when you get there? The hotel Atac would that be £6.50 at the height of the season?

Not what you think Lindy Lewd!!!!!

In the tube trains in london when I used to commute years ago - no seat meant holding the leather strap hanging from the rail above your head and standing.
