I have heard of this company http://www.propercar.com/ a few people have used them, have not heard anything bad, so should be worth contacting them.

Found another one http://turkey.carhireexpress.co.uk/ although they don't seem to have an airport pickup and dropoff.

Hi Guys,

Just to give you an update, went onto the propercar.com website and emailed them to ask about discounts for owners (i dont know how they would check though) the relpy is at the bottom.

but in summary here are a few of the rates they quoted me.
(per week including all insurance apart from type and windscreen. I'd be interested in finding out how this compares with others.

B1-Fiat Palio 1.2 A/C : 168.00 Euro ( 112.50 GBP)
C-Hyundai Accent 1.3 A/C : 184.80 Euro ( 123.80 GBP)
D-Fiat Albea 1.2 A/C : 184.80 Euro ( 123.80 GBP)

We would be happy to serve your car rental, transfer or other travel service requests form Turkey when you inquire. You can review our rates at http://www.propercar.com/ratesres.htm which are updated continuously. We also have special offers sometimes. Our clients who frequently rent cars form us have 20% loyal customer discount from our list rates anytime of the year. We have many clients who own property here and keep renting cars from us.

The 20% special offer is valid only for September reservations. However, if you are going to rent cars always from us, we can offer the same 20% loyal customer discount from Bodrum locations including airport and 10 % for other locations all the year.

The rates look pretty good, when I was there a month ago, I paid about £27 per day for a small Fiat with aircon.

We have booked a car from them in October. If there are a few of you it is worth it because by the time you have paid your transfers you might as well pay a bit extra and have the car.

We are just in the process of booking carhire with them. We have previously hired a car and a minibus from them (July and August) and apart from a couple of niggles they were very good. Both vehicles were clean and tidy and the minibus was almost brand new. They are also one of, if not the cheapest company for car hire.

Lynn,
it was your original write up on the "other" forum about your experience with them that lead me to enquire for myself. thought i'd post some prices and the fact about asking for the 20% discount.

I hope there are no hiccups as its the last thing you need at 3:30 in the morning when youve just been travelling for 8 hours

cheers

Hi Guys just an update on the car hire situation. I had requested a Group G car (Estate) from proper hire as I have Lots of luggage they had offered the 20% discount which I gladly accepted.

Problem - They dont have a Group G car until 3 days after I arrive. Solution sell me the next size up (people carrier) almost double the price!!!!.

NO - here is their reply

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Thank you for quick reply. Although it is higher rate, we can provide you group M1 for 3 days and group G for 11 days at the same price. We can bring the Palio Weekend to Didim Akbuk to change the vehicles, however you can only pay the delivery cost for petrol & driver which is just 30.00 Euro.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

So they are giving me the larger people carrier for 3 days then for £20 going to drive to the villa and swap the people carrier for the Estate.

So far my dealing with them (organising hire)have been excellent and they are incredibly good value. I hope that they follow through with the goods and rest assured i'll bore you all with the out come when we get back end of October....

Lynn thanks once again for the recommendation

Hi Marc,
We have again booked 2 weeks carhire via Proper car and again they have been excellent. I had originally enquired last week and they responded straight away but I forgot to book the cars!! Anyway I had a personal email earlier this week enquiring if everything was ok since they had not heard anything from me in response. Ok so they were really "pursuing" the car hire rather than being concerned for me and my family but these are the little touches which make a difference, plus they are the cheapest!!
I am sure you will be ok Marc, hopefully they will be there waiting for you as they were last time when we arrived at Bodrum with the Mini-bus.
Lynn and Keith.
