Low cost flights year round.
Sorry i cant provide more details at the moment but a company in turkey is planning to provide year round low cost flights to the area by leasing a plane from an airline. This is really exciting news and i am sure most members will applaud this enterprising move. However i will not be able to answer any questions regarding this topic but it is FACT and not gossiping. Hopefully this will pave the way for easier transport to Turkey.

Re: Low cost flights year round.
Can you atleast give us some information about the company trying to offer this service and from what airport the flights will be departing from?

Re: Low cost flights year round.
I don't know if this is the same, but I signed a petition on Holiday Truths some time ago; regarding low cost flights all year. Today I received the following email.
Hello, and thank you for signing the petition.
I have received some very good news from an independant tour company this week, and I am trying to support their decision to put on winter flights to Dalaman airport. This is part of the email they sent me this week.
Gatwick/Dalaman/Gatwick 04/11
Gatwick/Dalaman/Gatwick 11/11
Gatwick/Dalaman/Gatwick 23/12
Gatwick/Dalaman/Gatwick 30/12
Gatwick/Dalaman/Gatwick 06/01/06
Gatwick/Dalaman/Gatwick 25/3/05-29/4/05
We are also possibly looking to operate extra flights for Feb/Early march and
there is also a possibility of operating a Manchester flights with similar
dates.
We will be using Onur air A321 219 seat aircraft, with special long stays and
oneways for the
28/10 8wks GBP£99.00 o/w £49 1/2wks £149 + tax/fuel
4/11 7wks GBP99.00 return oneway GBP49 + tax/fuel
04/11 1wk £149
11/11 6wks GBP99.00 return oneway GBP49 + tax/fuel
As you can imagine, I want these flights to be successful and have promised to support this company. I am waiting for full details, prices, times, etc which I will receive in the next 7 - 14 days, as they are finalising the details, and the company wants my help to make this a success for them. As you can see the prices quoted are very reasonable, for direct flights.
The Manchester flight has not yet been confirmed, and after speaking to the director of the company, his concerns are that if 2 flights are offered, will they be able to fill them. I personally think they could on certain dates, especially Christmas and New Year, but its not my money going on the table to set this up.
I have suggested that perhaps a split load is an option. For anyone that does not know what this means, it would mean, collecting passengers in Manchester, then flying to Gatwick, to collect the remaining passengers, then flying to Dalaman. It is an option, that they are now going to look in to, if they cannot fill flights from both Manchester and Gatwick..... By the way, I dont live any where near any of these airports, but would find my way to one of them, as I have done so in the past.
If you are genuinely interested in any of these flights for the winter, could you email me, with your dates required, number of people travelling, and names, your preferred airport. Length of stay, long stays, or one way, (which can be from Dalaman to UK, or from the UK to Dalaman, for British passport holders). And a contact telephone number, so that as soon as I have prices and full details I can contact you, either by phone or email.
Dalaman is not everyones preferred choice of airport, and my aim is Direct Winter Flights to ALL the Turkish resort airports, but Dalaman is a start, so we need to support this, otherwise we could lose the chance of flights to any of the other airports.

Re: Low cost flights year round.
nice one Dave, if they can confirm manchester flights i would cetainly be interested especially at new year time .looking forward to hearing more info when you receive it,as the e-mail states Dalaman is not everyones preffered choice but it would be great if this is successful and then they might consider bodrum airport.

Mr
I may be wrong but this looks suspicious or a joke. I find it odd that peole are being asked to send all this information to an unsolicited hotmail address - and look at the the person's name. Is someone yanking your chain?
Maybe I'm paranoid but however much I want cheap, year round flights, I will not be sending any info to this person.
Apologies to Joanne Lamacraft if I am wrong.

Gezmek
I believe it's on the level, I know Joanne has been working hard for some time to get together a petition, see below. But you are right about being wary of hotmail addresses & the like, maybe Joanne should consider that.

hi Rob: then Joanne has my sincere apolgies. The extent of the personal information asked for along with the fact that this was a HOTMAIL address made me very wary and cynical.
Thanks for setting me straight.
Joanne should be aware that for many people HOTMAIL addresses are a definite red flag.
As to the cause, good luck to her.

Re: Low cost flights year round.
I got the same email and deleted it as I was suspicious too!!
Too much info required and Hotmail address spells trouble to me.
