We fly out on Monday, in what can only be described as a freak accident my partners passport as become damaged.
The back cover along with several pages are now detached, the pages are ripped.
Remaining inner pages are also ripped.
Both back and front covers are okay, back cover with pic on is intact.
Im off to Manchester Airport tomorrow to see how i stand with regards to its use.( thay said over the phone it should be ok)
How will it fair through Turkish control, anybody know.
Because its damaged it cant be replaced under the PREMIUM appointment system at the passport office...earliest would be next week....Weds / Thursday...

bbeatle hi....
You are quite right about the Premium Service not being available for a damaged Passport nor would the Fast Track Service be suitable as you rightly say takes a week to complete.
Assuming that all goes well with the UK end and your visit to Manchester Airport brings good news, I would also recommend you contact the Turkish Embassy in London to get their perspective on this.
Turkish Passport Control can be difficult at the best of times so their input would be of equal importance.
The Turkish Embassy in London can be contacted at....
43 Belgrave Square,
London SW1X 8PA.
Tel: 020 7393 0202
Fax: 020 7393 0066
I hope everything works out just fine
Merv!
