Going Topless in Turkey!

On my first summer holiday to Turkey (July 2004) to Altinkum, DIDIM,
I noticed quite a few women sunbathing topless on Altinkum beach, I was very surprised and disgusted, this was a public beach after all.

I had didn't think this sort thing would be tolerated in Turkey, especially as the resort is used my a lot of Turkish families too.

Is this normal in other Turkish resorts? what is your opinion?

THOSE DIRTY GIRLS SHOULD COVER THEMSELVES UP. YOU OFTEN SEE MRS TURKEY TOPLESS ON CALIS BEACH. SOME PEOPLE HAVE NO SHAME! MIND YOU, I HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO GO TOPLESS ON OCCASION AND THATS NOT A PRETTY SIGHT.

When we first visited Turkey, 6 or 7 years ago, we were warned by the rep to keep 'respectably dressed' in markets, the town etc and not to bathe topless on the beach....things have changed over the years and now tourists wear bikini tops to the market and people are topless around hotel pools as well as on the beach. I used to find it shocking as it seems disrepectful; we use hotels that have Turkish families too..however, like most things I am getting used to it...

I think we should all respect the culture of the locals wherever we go and it really p****** me off when I see people walking around in skimpy tops and bottoms. I saw this couple one day walking around the town and then walking around the town and then walking around the town, he obviously worked out, he had a huge physique and she had a lovely figure, she was wearing a thong and a skimpy bikini top and he was wearing a thong! Yuk! After a certain amount of time the restaurant owners had a go at them (after they had all had a good letch may I add) and they disappeared and we never saw them again. I don't think they were staying in Turgutreis, I think they had just come to pose there. But what must they have been thinking? A lot of people are topless on the beach but I have never heard any comments about that. In the supermarkets where we are they will not let anyone in unless they have got t shirts on and I think they are absolutely right.

Yeah Gail I agree, it annoys me too and I do have a gold lame thong lol! Even if I had the biggest boobs in the world that caused an eclipse of the sun on the beach I wouldn't go topless its probably the Germans lol
