Getting minors on flights

We are travelling to Bodrum on 11th July for 3 weeks. This evening we tried to book an additional ticket for just the third week for our sons girlfriend, who is 15 years of age. We were told that it would not be possible for her travel alone because of her age. She was due to return on the same flight as us and we stated that we would be meeting her at Bodrum Airport. They said that their policy is not to carry "unattended minors". Does anyone know of a way around this because we dont really want a lovesick 15year- old for 3 weeks. Is this the policy on all airlines now and ifso why?

I read of one airline who will take unaccompanied minors but I am racking my brain as to which one. It may have been Britannia, I must have been poring through small print looking for info about dogs.

I've had the same problem with my 14 year old. He's travelling over here with my 19 year old, who's staying for 2 weeks. We wanted the younger one to stay for 6 weeks and travel back with some friends at the end of August. The friends had already booked their tickets, so the airlines wouldn't accept that my son would be travelling with them. So he can only stay for 2 weeks. If anyone has any ideas of ways round this problem, I would also be interested. It's too late for me to do anything about it this trip, but it would be helpful for next time.

I don't know much about it all but I do know that it certainly isn't the policy on all airlines because there were unacompanied minors on a BA flight I took recently (although I realise that doesn't help you).

I would have thought that a decent travel agent should be able to help without too much difficulty though?

None of the charter flights will take any minors under the age of 16.

scheduled airlines will carry them (normally for a unacompanied minor fee)

If you look at this link there are different airlines on here and it also said it should not be (too) much of a problem. I am sure I have seen it on one of the Turkish charter flight rules recently. Mainly because I cannot think of any airline rules I would have looked at apart from the ones to Turkey. It isn't Britannia though but If I find it again I will post it here.

We take my nephew with us who is 16 this week and I remebered thinking that he could have travelled alone but it didn't matter now as he was 16.

Steve i don't think any charter flights will take anyone under the age of 16.Is there no one who is due to go out on that flight she could travel with?? Put out an advert?
We don't fly out until 8th August otherwise i would have seen if i could have helped you.
Was out last week booked on Thursday and flew on Saturday.I thought you were out as i thought you were on the second floor in the greeen block but you are the ground floor arn't you next to Turkish Ken?
Good luck with your search

Turkish airlines let minors travel and are very helpful, my friends niece who is 9 has been doing this for years, when she is to visit her grandma in the UK for the school hols the airlines always help and ssist, she has been doing this for 5 years. they book a open 6week ticket (ok from Turkey to UK return) but could be a help for the future,
