Re: Thomas Cook baggage?

its ok if you booked and paid for your flight in say march as this extra charge came in after that . we did book and pay back then so we can still take 15Kg suitcase each without extra charge. [ for the last time ]

Re: Thomas Cook baggage?

TC have been weighing hand luggage so I would be very careful what you do,you might be lucky and get away with it but to be on safe side I would have a light weight jacket with lots of big pockets over my arm

Re: Thomas Cook baggage?

We flew thomas cook back in april paid the hold luggage 15kg then and then took on 5kg hand luggage each they never weighed any hand luggage just asked how many items and 3 of us had what whould appear large beach bag sizes and on a laptop sized bad with a camera on there shoulder. No questions on any of it but then all baggage we weighed carefully before leaving so we knew we were under on everything even if only 1/2 kilo.
p.s we went from Birmingham that time but going again soon from Manchester with 20kg hold and 5kg hand so who knows what that will bring.

good luck

Re: Thomas Cook baggage?

My husband (with his son and daughter in law) flew to Gatwick from Dalaman on 11th May and my husband flew back on 31st May - both time with Thomas Cook. Neither time was the hand luggage weighed or measured!!

Re: Thomas Cook baggage?

This is the last year I will fly with Thomas Cook because of the extortionate flight prices and because they think you can go on a 5 week holiday with 15kg of baggage!! Add to that that they will now charge you to take the 15kg of baggage!!
Thomas Cook at Birmingham are meanies, I have watched them rounding up Kg to get another £8 from someone. Never found them unreasonable at Bodrum where a smile, a bit of Turkish and a haggle can somewhat reduce the excess coming back (if there are no TC reps lurking that is!!). I have often gotten away with excess coming back or been seriously undercharged...

Does this sound really mad but I would wear a few extra tops and whip them off once through to departures and pop them in your carry on, therby carry n is lighter and smaller before you go in and you get some extra bits of clothes through

Turkish Airlines for me next year me thinks...

Re: Thomas Cook baggage?

You can add 5 kilos to your 20 kilos allowance for £8.00, must be done a
week before you fly.
I have never known them to be as strict as this year, what you can do is buy
your toiletries from boots when you are in duty free that should save a few
kilos for extra shoes.lol
