Re: PAMUKKALE & EPHESUS TOUR - DAY 2
We did this 2 day trip in September 2002, and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. You have to see it to get the full wonder and joy of Ephesus and Pamukkale, plus the added bonus of all the beauty you see during the travelling. I did go into Cleopatra's pool, wow, that was an experience, hard to describe, but the water was so soothing, making the body weightless, floating along with the water, plus the massaging gushes of water that came out of the rocks.
Unfortunately, like you Mustaq, the transport left a lot to be disired, but ours was an old dilapitated Dolmus, so uncomfortable. Also our tour guide had a stinking cold which I picked up, that left my 2nd week's holiday miserable.
I recommend everybody to do this trip, you won't regret it.

Re: PAMUKKALE & EPHESUS TOUR - DAY 1 & DAY 2
Hi all,
I really want to visit Ephesus and Pamukkale but also Cappadocia (Neveshir and Goreme Valley I think from the reading I have done so far) and stay in one of those cave hotels and also Konya for the Whirling Dervishes. Does anyone know a good tour company that I can book up with?
Regards
Helen

Re: PAMUKKALE & EPHESUS TOUR - DAY 1 & DAY 2
we drove to ephesus in our hire car from bodrum in oct . i am glad after reading about the coach trip that we did,we stopped at kusadasi for an hour for lunch ,and had a good look round ephesus at our own pace [it was about 85 f in oct . when we had had enough we got back in our car and took a liesurly drive back to bodrum for an evening meal before going home .[ and no smelly armpits ] it was a good drive .and we did not have to bother with the stupid carpet and jewellry shops.

Re: PAMUKKALE & EPHESUS TOUR - DAY 1 & DAY 2
Great Post Mushtaq !
It makes me remember my visit to Pamukalle, me and my friend (who is a very good driver, ) did hire a car in Kuşadası and drove to Pamukalle
You are right, it is a lovely ride, we first went to Aphrodiasis, a lovely site, which I can recommend to everybody !
On the site we were almost alone ! It was not too hot, it was quiete and I remember the two of us sitting there and we heard the muezzin in the far distance, it was a magic experience, it really was,
On the road we did stop a at Pide-house were we were so warmly greeted, they didn't have any tourist there and we also stopped at a small shop with an old man and did sit a bit on a bench outside the shop with him.... it all comes back now
I was a bit disappointed in Pamukalle, especially when you come on and see only that white top of the mountain, but once on the top I liked it, the water is soo soft and the white so white, that it has a strange atmosphere
Since then my friend has a Turkish husband and child ..... so no more trips with her, and I'm too afraid to drive a car in Turkey
